Luvtheheaven and Hollywoodgirl2005 proudly present their second contest held together! It's a contest of episodic proportion in surveys and points of views of friends and lovers!
PLEASE do us a favor and read through all of these rules carefully. Not all are in the video and the video moves by quickly so read them here.

AND leave a comment with the codeword for the category you're entering. The codewords for each category are hidden within the rules for that category.
First you must read these rules that apply to ALL CATEGORIES:
1) If you fail to follow any of these rules hollywoodgirl2005 and I have the right to disqualify you and your entry. Sorry but we're being strict.
2) All videos MUST be NEW and made for this contest.
3) All videos MUST be completed by the deadline, Thursday, January 15, 2009. We are both in college and that will be the best time for us the judge - the 3-day weekend in honor Martin Luther King Jr. day. There will be no extensions.

5) We will be judging based on CREATIVITY and QUALITY. Creativity encompasses everything from uniqueness of song choice and character/episode/friendship/couple choice (the less often vidded the song and/or subject of the video is the more "bonus points" you get), as well as creativity in how you make the video - how you interpret a song, a couple, a lyric, etc, what effects or editing style you use, etc. Creativity wins you major bonus points! for more details on what hollywoodgirl2005 and I look for when judging those "quality" aspects of a video. It will give you a better chance of winning if you follow them!

Category 1: Soundtrack to a Character's Life
Basically a while ago a quiz/survey started on MySpace where, in order to find out how well your music "knows you", you put your ipod/mp3 player/music library on random "shuffle" and then write down (under a each of a series of "stages of life") the song that comes up, going to the next song for each new stage of life. No songs may be "skipped"! Even if you're embarrassed to have the song on your ipod, or the song completely clashes with the stage of life, it must be written down. Hollywoodgirl2005 and I recommend you take the quiz once for yourself, to see what the soundtrack to your own personal life would be. :D Just for fun! THEN, after having fun with a soundtrack to your own life, please pick one character - ANY character, however main or insignificant, and write their name down. You're stuck now, you're going to make a video for that character's life! You will have to put something in your video for EVERY stage of life (listed below) for your character. So even if we never see your characters "first day of school", or maybe never see their "Wedding", or never see their "final battle" you MUST be creative and do something for every stage of life. But picking an under-vidded or never-vidded character will earn you some bonus points, and creativity will as well. The hidden secret codeword for this category that you must leave in a comment when you post your entry as a video response is "soundtrack". After you have carefully decided on a character, you must reset your ipod or mp3 player or music library, and put in on random "shuffle". For each "stage of life", write down the song that comes up and then move on. You are now forced to use that song for that stage of your character's life!
Now be creative and use a small portion of each song to create a video that sums up - hopefully in a very unique, unusual, creative, and fun way - your character's entire life!! The video CANNOT exceed 6 minutes in length. (This is a new update the the rules, our old rule was that it couldn't exceed 5 minutes but we decided to let you go til 6 minutes if you need to. But NO MORE than 6 minutes long.)

Categories 2-4:
The following rules apply to ALL of the last 3 categories!! PLEASE read and follow or else you WILL be disqualified!
1) All videos MUST be set to an entire song! Absolutely NO cutting and editing of songs to make them shorter. Even though some amazing videos can be made this way, Hollywoodgirl2005 and I both don't like it. It usually seems lazy or implies that the entire song doesn't fit your video's concept. We wish to avoid these issues by making a strict rule. We apologize if this inconveniences you in any way.
2) Absolutely NO videos set to ANY version of the song "I'll Stand By You". Sorry, but it is too generic and videos are made set to it far too often. Just pick a different song!

Category 2: The Episodic Video
Pick ONE (1) episode from any of the shows allowed in the contest. Any 1 episode you want!! And make an episodic video set to any song you'd like (except "I'll Stand By You" as explained earlier in the description). The word that you have to type in a comment in order to be qualified when you enter is "episode". Be sure to use the full song and encompass the entire episode in the most thorough, entertaining, and creative way possible! you just might win!

Category 3: Friendship
Pick a friendship between TWO (2) non-related characters, and make a video as a tribute to them! This means no cast friendship videos or friendships between more than 2 people. This also means no brothers, no mother/daughter friendships, no cousins - just NO RELATED CHARACTERS. ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE - the friends CANNOT have any romantic history. We know some of the best friendships either eventually evolve into romance or started out as romance - but those friendships are NOT ALLOWED in this contest!! Try to pick a unique friendship and/or a unique song to earn you bonus points. Please leave a comment including the codeword "friendship" when you enter in order to prove you've read the rules. Uniqueness for friendship implies that very few (if any) videos have been made about the friendship before. Uniqueness for song either means that the song is rarely/never used for friendships, or is just rarely/never vidded at all. Remember, again, that the song "I'll Stand By You" is prohibited. ALL SEASONS of the show that have been released on DVD in which both characters appear MUST be included in the video. You are highly encouraged to use scenes of the current season as well (for shows still airing new episodes).

Category 4: Couples From Both Perspectives
Choose any song preformed by ONE (1) singer - male or female, it doesn't matter, but no duets. Then create a video that clearly portrays both character's points of views EQUALLY. This means you must have certain lines of the song designated to one character and certain lines dedicated to another, and it should be clear who's point of view it is at all times. This may be difficult but it can be done amazingly well if you find the right song. ALL SEASONS of the show that have been released on DVD in which both characters appear MUST be included in the video. You are highly encouraged to use scenes of the current season as well (for shows still airing new episodes). The secret codeword for this category is "couples" and you must leave it in a comment when you post your entry. The couple MAY NOT be AU - all couples must have really existed on the show at some point for you to enter a video of them in this category of the contest.

PRIZES and how winners will be assigned for all 4 categories:
There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each of the 4 categories, regardless of shows.
3rd place: We will comment on 3 of your videos and add you as a friend.
2nd place: We will comment on 4 of your videos, add you as a friend, and make you a background with a theme of your choice.
1st place: We will comment on 5 of your videos, add you as a friend, and make you a video per request (unless you'd prefer a background with a theme of your choice instead). Hollywoodgirl2005 and I will both have to make 2 videos each as prizes for the 4 first place winners. But we hold onto the right to take our time a little in actually getting to making the videos, in case we are busy with school. We will make your prizes though, as it is fun to make prize videos when you consider yourselves good vidders and you're giving the prize of requested videos to the really amazing vidders who won and actually have good ideas for us.
First place winning requesting videos will have to request a video from one of the 4 categories. This means you, the first place winner, may pick a character, but we will use our own ipodshuffles. Or you pick an episode, friendship, or couple that we have to vid (that would have been allowed in the contest) and you must give us 3 song choices for whatever your idea is instead of just one. This will make for better prize videos in the end. We promise you!
