Luton Town FC Unofficial Site

For the Fans, by a Madman!

Enoch leaves Town, "Let's go for Kader" plus...... We Have Fulham!

Club enigma and Cult Hero, Enoch Showumni has decided to use his freedom of contract and leave Luton for Bristol City on a free.

Enoch's path to a 1st team place at Ashton Gate is blocked by young Welsh international, David Cotteril; lethal lower league goalscorer, Phil Jevons and Steve Brooker. All of whom are highly rated, particually by me!

Quite funny to see his explaination for not becoming a professional footballer until 21 though, ''I took a degree in Business Studies which occupied 3 years, before signing for Luton!"

As a replacement, I see 27-year old Mohammed Kader Toure of Togo as a perfect capture, a quick, exciting and most importantly, considering the nature of how a lot of our moves break down trying to be to fancy around the 18-yard box, he is a man with a shot on sight policy. He looked lively and isn't totally unrealistic. After all, he plays for Guingamp, in the French 2nd Division and who else used to play for them, you guessed it, Jean Louis Valous.

In friendly news, the 1st team will entertain Chris Coleman's Fulham, on Friday 21st July at 7:45pm. Fulham include Luis Boa Morte, who of course was once confused with Matthew Upson in a pre-season friendly, resulting in Upson being sent-off despite him being white and Luis being Black!!!!!!!!

PFA List up

All the released players of the PFA list who could be of interest to Mike Newell as Free Transfers.

More to come later.

Latest Insider News from Kenilworth Road!!!!!!

An insider from Kenilworth Road has now told me that, as well as the fact he has been interviewed for the Derby job, which we know he turned down. He has also be interviewed for the Vacant position at Portman Road, Ipswich.

On top of this, I also know that he is on the shortlist at Preston & Palace. As we all know already, Simon Jordan's comments in the opening day programme didn't go down too well in the Newell camp. So, if Mike was to be approached by the eccentric chairman there would be a lot of smoothing over that would need to be done.

The Preston job would be quite appealing to him however, seeing as both have the team & infrastructure to make a Premiership push and also, it is close to his family home in ...... However, currently he has be offered or been interviewed for either of these two jobs.

On the player front, it is the same shortlist that Newell had last season, of which I have not been told what that shortlist is. However it is rumoured to included Greg Halford & Neil Danns from Colchester (Halford is an classy England U-20 utility player & Danns is a lethal goalscoring midfielder). In the case of Danns, he is out of contract and he has already announced he will not be resigning.

This shortlist is also rumoured to include Adam Boyd, a young striker from Hartlepool. Boyd's goals were instrumental to their play-off final campaign in our League 1 winning year. Boyd has been plagued with injury this season but should be back to full fitness next season.

What my informant has told me however, is that the shortlist is bulked up with sights set on a few Premiership Loans and an audacious swoop for someone whom I can't mention.

Pezza stays, Becks let go, and we lose out on the Don.

In the latest player movement news, Mike Newell has decided to hand experienced pro Russ Perrett a new 1 year deal. The 32-year-old was probably handed a new playing contract after Mike failed to sign Scottish international Kevin McNaughton from Heikks' old clun Aberdeen, after he decided to join Cardiff City. Kevin also attracted interest from Sheff. Wed, as well as clubs from Norway & Holland

From various information I have gathered from Dons fans, McNaughton is a very decent Centre-Half, however, he is considered both to be overly inconsistant and is also regarded as big-headed and above himself.

In other news, young keeper Rob Beckwith has been released by Mike. This is now the 2nd player released this year that I am personally disappointed about, after David Deeney, this is because I feel he is a keeper with a good future on his hands, if he can get over his major injuries earlier in his career.
