The major values provided by this project are as follows:

1)      Enables the operational support personnel to perform swift fiber cut repairs in emergencies.

2)      Enables the operational support personnel to perform swift planned/unplanned maintenance repairs and upgrades of the outside optical fiber network plant.

3)      Enables the operational support personnel to accurately locate fiber network outside plant infrastructure.

4)      Provides other utilities (electric, gas, etc.) and construction contractors with highly accurate outside fiber plant information, needed to avoid damaging fiber infrastructure.

5)      Supports displaying geography based output of the optical fiber network on a large screen on a network service provider premises.

6)      Provides a centralized O/F NMS, integrating fault and performance data coming from multiple vendor-specific NMS or EMS of the different O/F Network Solution Vendors.

7)      Helps network service provider use performance management data for planning future extensions and strategic upgrades in the core fiber network.

8)      Provides graphical or tabular view of real-time performance data, store this data in database tables and support archival of this data for record-keeping and planning purposes.
