The rules for submission are very simple. To get your submissions into the Portal, simply follow these rules.
Simply send me the videos when you are finished, and I will watch them.Send them via email to either of the addresses mysticmaikau@yahoo.com or lukeharris@gmail.com . Or alternatively, upload them to http://www.yousendit.com/ or http://www.yourfilehost.com/ and send me the links. (These are temporary until I can get an FTP Server started.)Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT upload your submissions to YouTube or any other public video sites until AMV Portal is complete. If I find your videos elsewhere online, they will be removed from the project.Upload your videos with the name: Your name (Or What you want to be called)-Anime Name(s)-Artist and sound name
For example: Luke Harris-Dragon Ball Z-Weird Al Trapped at the drive thru
DO’s:
1. Make it funny. I’m not looking for something serious, sad, cool, or annoying, make it funny. If it doesn’t make anyone laugh, it’s not getting in.
2. Watch AMV Hell 3-4 to understand what type of videos I’m looking for here.
3. Aim for a video 30 seconds or less. I will accept a video that is over 30 seconds, but it has to be getting funnier for every second over 30, or else it may get annoying.
4. Experiment. I implore you to do so. Good things may happen if you think outside the box.
DO NOT’s:
1. Do NOT use Window’s Movie Maker. It only exports WMV’s which will NOT BE ACCEPTED! I will watch the videos, but they will NOT get into the final product if they are in WMV format.
2. Do NOT use the same sound slips/music from AMV Hell 3-4. Make it original, make it funny, don’t reuse jokes.
3. Do NOT use extreme violence, language, or nudity in the videos. Keep it a high PG-13.
Can anyone submit to the project? Yes. I don’t do background checks or anything, just submit them, I don’t care who you are. Will you allow any nudity in the submission? Yes, but to a degree. No sex or graphic frontal nudity. Butts and breasts are allowed, but please, keep it in moderation. How will I know if I got a video accepted? I will have a list ready on my website stating the name of the creator and a number next to the name. The more numbers, the more videos have been accepted. Will you allow non-anime shows that look like anime? (Avatar: The Last Airbender)Here's a gray area. Yes, I will accept them, however, they must be hilariously funny to stand a chance of making it into the final project.When will AMV Portal be completed? I’m shooting for Chstimas Day, 2008.
