In addition to her conservatoire studies, Lucy has been invited to attend IMS Prussia Cove and Open Chamber Music, for which she was awarded Jerwood Foundation Scholarships. She has also received John Wates Awards to attend the International Summer Academy Mozarteum (Salzburg), to study with Igor Oistrakh and Lewis Kaplan. Lucy is a keen chamber musician, and is a member of Northern Sinfonia.
Previously a pupil of Igor Oistrakh, Lucy received a first class Bachelor’s degree and a Postgraduate Diploma with distinction from the Royal College of Music, where she studied with Ani Schnarch and Itzhak Rashkovsky. At the RCM she won the Ian Stoutsker Violin Prize, the Kathleen Long Chamber Music Prize and awards from John Lewis Partnership, Countess of Munster, Musicians' Benevolent Fund and the KPMG/Martin Fund. Lucy has recently received an MMus with Distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music, where she studied with Jan Repko and researched the violin music of Karol Szymanowski. She was also awarded the prestigious PPRNCM Diploma and the Hirsch Chamber Music Prize.
Lucy is in great demand as a soloist, and has given recitals in the Concertgebouw Kleine Zaal, the Centre for Performing Arts in Tel Aviv and the Mirabell Schloss in Salzburg. Since winning the RCM Concerto Competition in 2002, she has also performed concertos in the Cambridge Music Festival, Bath Abbey and the Oxford Sheldonian. Forthcoming performances in 2008 include concertos by Tchaikovsky and Brahms.
