How LR Appaloosas was created

Hi my name is Leeann. Welcome to my world. This is how LR Appaloosas was born. (LR stands for Leeann Rose which is my two first names.I have registered my own brand which is my initials inside a heart.I hope for this to be purchased in the near future.

In 1985 I went to this place after seing an ad in the paper for an unbroken Appaloosa filly. She was a scrawny bay filly covered in mudfever and not in good condition. She hadn't been handled. I walked into her paddock with a bag of carrots, sat down and talked to her. She eventually came over and ate and nuzzled me.

I put a rope and a halter on her .Everyone was amazed as I led her around the paddock .A week later she had a new home and a name.'Princess Panache.' Panache became a beautiful horse with lots of love and good food. She grew to 15.1 1/2 hh. I got her registered. She became a show horse and my companion and best friend.I joined the Appaloosa Association that year.

I also had the pleasure of owning  the lovely Appaloosa Oneida Prarie Blaze. He was an amazing horse with a heart of gold and he would do anything for me whether he thought he could or not.We did everything in the way of riding including fun racing.(Blaze has a page here in past friends as he was panache's companion too until he passed away. He also is who Blaze is named after,my stallion)

When Panache was 16 I tried after losing a foal years earlier to breed her. It was successful and Panache's Blazing Flash was born. I classified Blaze and he became a registered stallion. I purchased a lovely property and moved to Hawke's  Bay. In 2004 I bought a TB mare. In 2005 she had a lovely lace blanket filly who I am very proud of.

In 2005 I purchased a QH mare who I have since sold. She produced a lovely colt.

In December 2006 I purchased an Appaloosa mare to enable me to return to riding as Panache is now retired. I look forward to seing Blazes progeny out there and giving their owners the pleasure they have given me.

I would like to thank anyone along the way who has helped me to realise one of my dreams.

I hope you enjoy your visit and if you would like to leave a message please do on my guestbook page

                                                         thankyou
