Hello! I am the Health Science Teacher at Health Careers Academy, Boston MA.
I graduated from UMass Amherst in 2002 with an undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition. I went on to Simmons College where I completed a Dietetic Intership and Mater's Degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion in 2004. I have been a Registered Dietitian (R.D) for five years and in that time worked at both Upham's Corner Health Center and Massachusetts General Hospital Heart Center. I have counseled and educated many people about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating. I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Education.
I decided to begin my careers teaching about three years ago. Chronic disease that plague our country, need to be prevented at an early age. I feel very fortunate to be teaching at Health Careers Academy, a school that puts an importance on health and science. By teaching the next generation of health professionals, I hope to not only help to improve their health and well-being, but to also influence them to grow up and teach the same lessons to individuals in their community someday.
