A postpartum doula specializes in providing care to families during the time following the arrival of a new baby. A postpartum doula supports first-time mothers emotionally and teached them techniques that can help smooth their transistion into motherhood. Postpartum doulas can be helpful during the birth of the second, third, or fourth child by assisting the mother in adjusting to her gorwing families' needs and the needs of her new baby.
