About Louise

Louise Skelly, lives in the south of England and is a practicing artist graduated from Winchester School of Art in 2006 (bachelors degree: Fine Art specialising in painting).  In 2005 Louise went on a research visit to Japan  from 17th Feb. until 19th March 2005, this influenced her work greatly, as you can see from the section of this website on Japanese influences.  Her work at the moment is primarily concerned with Self portrait, both literal and via portraiture of others. Some of her older paintings were influenced by Japanese animation. The traditions and culture of Japan have been and still are of great influence in her art even though it may be less obviously visable in her current paintings.   Louise is currently training as a teacher on a CELTA course and planning a post grad. gap year in the spring of 2007.

Louise Skelly's first solo exhibition was on Sunday 26th September 2004 from 1-5pm (one afternoon only) at St. Edward's Church Hall, Dorset Road, Windsor (England).  It was relatively successful and she hopes to produce another exhibition during this summer.  (Thank-you to the people who took time to visit the exhibition, we hope you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you at future shows.)

If you like her art work and wish to purchase any of it, please do not hesitate to make contact.  If you like the style of the paintings but cannot find a piece that suits you, don't feel shy to request a commission.  If it is not possible then we WILL say so.  If you like a piece but it has already been sold, digital copies are kept of all work and can be produced in a range of different sized prints including onto canvas.
