Stand By Me is definately my fave film of all time ever! Every time is see it I cry on the 3 saddest bits (as voted by everyone who's seen it!) even now, & I've seen it about 20 times! Right at the end, almost everyone says "Oh my God thats so sad!", & I've showed it to loads of people! I won't tell you what happens but it is really sad! My fave bit is when Chris shows Gordie the gun, almost right at the start, that's the best line aswell!!
"Gordie did it! Gordie Lachance is shooting up Castle Rock!"
Anyway, it's a really good film, a classic, & take it from me, I've seen alot of films. Sad ones, funny ones, dramatic ones, & crap ones. & Stand By Me is one of the best. It doesn't really have a genre, but it's described as "A Coming Of Age Film." - I'd call it, a funny sad film. Haha. It's an adaptation from a novella by Stephen King called "The Body". Loads of people are in it, & theres a fair few cameos too! River Phoenix, Wil Wheaton, Corey Feldman, Jerry O'Connell, Keifer Sutherland & John Cusak.
Interview With The Vampire is also an adaptation from a novel, of the same name, by Anne Rice. It's about a Vampire, who tells his story to a "collector of lives" as he calls himself. He narrates his tale, from "Being born to darkness" - Till that very day. A tale that stretches 200 years. The best line is right at the end.
"I assume I need no introduction."
Loads of famous people are in it, including Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst, Antonio Banderas, Stephen Rea & Christian Slater!! What a star studded cast ..... Plus, one of the greatest rock songs of all time is the theme tune! "Sympathy For The Devil" - A Guns 'N' Roses cover of The Rolling Stones!! Its well suited to that end scene actually!
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a lovely story about a poor skeleton (Who goes by the name of Jack Skellington) who is fed up of his life in Halloween town, & sets about trying to steal Christmas! Its really funny!! The best line is...
"Jack please! I'm only an elected official here, I can't make decisions by myself!"
There are loads of really catchy songs, I know all the words to all of them ...
Elephant is about the Columbine shootings that happened in 1999, 2 boys (apparently they were gay, there is a lovely scene with them in the shower before the blood bath!) They planned to blow up the school, & shoot the survivors. They dropped a bag in the cafeteria, set to go off at a time when there would be 500 pupils in it. Luckily that bomb never exploded, but many people were killed and wounded, before the 2 turned the guns on themselves. There isn't a best line, the whole film is devastating & disturbing. One to watch.
The Lost Boys is about 2 brothers, Sammy & Michael, who move to Santa Carla and have a serious run in with Vampires. It's really funny, not scary at all, a bit bloody though! The best line is ...
"Death by stereo!" & "The one thing about Santa Carla I never could stomach. All the damn Vampires."
There are some actors in it you might reconise, Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Keifer Sutherland, & Jami Gertz! Really cool, if you are over 16 & never heard of it, I have 1 question. Did you sleep through the 80s?!
