What is it? Its an Anime Social! Music, cameras, chatting, displays, costumes, dancing, an AMV showing, gaming, clubs, mingling, and a cosplay contest!

Update (as of Sept. 21st)
The "Video Game" portion of our Social has changed to a more anime oriented type of game:
THE ANIME CHARACTER NAMING CHALLENGE!

Teams of two people, will have to name the anime character on the screen.
It will be "Last Man Standing" playoff, where the last team standing will
win a prize.

1) The characters will start off easy, the gradually get harder and harder
as the contest progresses.

2) The teams will have to name the character, and we will be asking for
their ENTIRE name. There are cases when they are called one thing, but
their real name is something else. In those cases, we will want their REAL
NAME. The harder or more obscure, the later they will be in the contest.

3) Spelling must be correct. We will forgive errors such as the following.
a) Shinnosuke/Shinosuke
b) Ukyo/Ukyou
Errors other than these will not be allowed, and the panel of judges will
have the final say.

4) Each team will be given 30 sheets of paper. Once the team is
eliminated, your ream of paper will be taken away and given to the other
teams still in contention.

5) In the case NO ONE GETS IT CORRECT, all remaining players will continue
to the next round.

6) If for some reason, we run out of anime characters, we will go into
sudden death with the remaining players and go into a quiz mode.

This game is hosted by Oahu Anime Explorer. I would like to say my thanks to Oahu Anime Explorer yet again. Not only did they pay for the room, but now they've fully organized this Challenger on Fire style game for the Social.

The Grand Prize for the winning team is two four-day passes to Anime Expo 2008, or two $45 gift certificates for OK Anime! Study up people!

5-5:30pm AMV Showing*
5:35-6:35 The Anime Character Challenge!
6:40-7:30pm Cosplay Contest*
7:30-9:30pm Dance with DJ Cresent
9:30-10pm Closing Ceremony

*Note. Both the AMV Showing, and the Cosplay Contest's amount of time will be determined by the number of entrants. We're giving them both an optimistic 45 min.s for the time being.

Rules
-no running
-keep swearing to a minimum
-sexual harassment is against the law, remember that
-Thumper’s Rule (if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all)
-under 13 must come with guardian (over 18 )
-no real weapons of any kind
-no rough-housing or play fighting
-use your common sense, if you can’t do it in school or in front of your mother, don’t do it here
-no food or drinks (there are food places nearby, including McDonalds)
If you violate the rules once we’ll give you a warning, but if you do it twice, you’ll be kicked/banned with no refund.

Update
Anyone wishing to enter the Cosplay Contest must bring at least two color pictures of their character for the judges. Preferably one picture of the characters front, and one from the back or side. These pictures cannot be fan-made. They must be professional pictures from the show, book, or video game.
If your going to enter, please reply saying "I Would Like to Enter!" or something to that nature, so we can estimate the number of participants.
Props can be any size as long as they fit through the door. After the contest we will hold your prop for you and return it when you leave. Please don’t bring real swords, real guns, or loaded airsoft guns, as they will be checked by security and you will not be allowed to enter with them. Replica firearms must have red/orange tip.
Entrants will be judged on two categories, best made costume, and staying in character. There are no novice or advanced levels. All cosplayers will be judged for Overall Best Costume.
The Grand Prize for the winner of the Cosplay Contest is two tickets to Kawaii Kon 2008!

AMV Showing
We will be showing AMV’s sent in by viewers like you! No, but seriously. Send us your original AMV’s and we’ll show them at our Social. The AMV with the most applause will have an encore presentation. This is just for fun to show everyone your best AMV’s!
