Creating Lifelong Learners

About Lorri Wilke, Educational Therapist

After graduating from college, Lorri became a certified teacher in the state of Illinois, eventually becoming a home educator.  Having been an educator for over 19 years, Lorri Wilke had often felt frustration for students and families dealing with learning struggles.  When she discovered NILD Educational Therapy, she knew she had found a jewel.  The old school of thought is that students with learning difficulties and disabilities simply have to learn to cope with their learning problems for the rest of their lives.  Research now proves that the brain can be retrained, and in many cases, learning difficulties and disabilities can actually be overcome.  This is exciting news!  Lorri was so impressed with the distinctives of NILD Educational Therapy that she pursued training and certification as an educational therapist along with a master's degree in educational therapy.  She is pleased to offer her services and hope for struggling learners.

Lorri has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Summa Cum Laude) in elementary eduction from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL along with minors in English and Social Science.  She became a certified teacher in the state of Illinois right out of college.  She later earned a Master's Degree (Summa Cum Laude) in educational therapy from Regent University in Virginia and has completed three levels of training as an educational therapist with NILD, earning professional certification as an educational therapist. Since then, Lorri has become an instructor for NILD, teaching Level One, Rx for Math, and Rx for Writing.  In addition, Lorri is trained in Standard I, Standard II, Standard III, Basic I, and Tactile/Kinesthetic in Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment (FIE), becoming an FIE Standard I instructor.
