In Loving Memory
Of
Beloved Evangelist
Minister Jerry J. Daniels
Nov 20th 1961 - April 28th 2006

Jerry was my Bible class teacher for the Adult class at Southside Church of Christ,
and he was also the Associate Minister there.
I learned alot from him, he was an extraordinay man.
Jerry also started and maintained our Operation Victory Soul Winning Ministry.
Jerry had a wonderful sense of humor, he was always joking around with everyone,
he could always make you laugh!
Our Minister Johnny would be up there speaking and say: Does anyone have a question? Jerry would grab my hand and raise my hand up! I would say: Stop That Jerry! He was so funny!
This one time I had won a prize at one of our many rallys, (it was a movie) so I go up to get my prize and Jerry says: Here ya go Cj your first black movie! Everyone just rolled laughing! (Me Too)
He was always doing stuff like that, another time Jerry saved my life,
this dog was chasing me and he was about to rip my leg off or worse,
and here comes Jerry running towards me, he shooed the dog away just in the nick of time!
Then of course Jerry had to re-inact the whole scene of me running from the dog for everyone at Church!
of course the scene Jerry did was way funnier then what actually happened!
I laughed so hard I cried! Jerry told everyone: Thats a Fast white girl!
If I wrote about all the funny stuff he did I would probably have a great comedy sitcom!
But, Jerry saved my life on that day!
I only wish that there was some way that I could have saved his life so that he could still be here on Earth, telling jokes and making us laugh with his clever sense of humor,
he was brilliant at teaching and brilliant at comedy, come to think of it Jerry never missed the mark at anything he did, he gave everything 100% all of the time, he especially had a love for Soul Winning,
and we both shared the love of Soul Winning, we were both constantly thinking up ways to get people to get to the Church and hear Gods word, I think every idea I came up with I shared with Jerry to get his input and expertise, almost everytime I saw him I would say: Jerry,
what ya think about this, or what ya think about that, and we would weigh the pros and cons of any given idea, that was the way Jerry was, if you asked anything of him you had his undivided attention.
He would never get disinterested half way through he always would listen to you, Jerry was a great listener, and he would wait till your finished and then comment, and he would never rush you or hurry you in anyway, someone that does that genuinely cares about people, you can always tell by that.
I really miss Jerry, and I will always miss Jerry, we had alot of good times at Church and over the phone and many Emails one to the other, He always had time for me and gave me some of the best advice that anyone could give a person in any given situation in life, and if I wrote down here all of the pranks, jokes, Etc... from Jerry it could easily fill 20 pages here, as I said Jerry loved to clown around with you,
(with everyone) so I will remember the good times we had and cry over this loss of this great man and Minister, but I will and still do laugh at those good times and jokes, so if you see me smile or giggle to myself sometimes Im probably thinking of Jerry and one of the many jokes and poking fun that he did.
Jerry was also great at pointing out Biblical facts, he would often challenge us to see how well we knew the Bible and if we were rightly dividing the word of God, he used to say: I think or I feel isent good enough, you have to go by what the Bible says, and not think or feel about it, or add or take away from it.
Jerry was my Brother in Christ, yet he was very much like having a real brother, we would fuss at each other like real brothers and sisters do, then we would stop fussing and get along again, Jerry never cared that I was white and he was black because Jerry loved everyone equally, it didnt matter to him about social standing or being politically correct, all he cared about was Winning Souls and leading the lost to Christ.
That was always his main goal, Jerry just loved people! and he loved life! and he loved the Church, he was only in this world he was not (of) this world, and he was always tirelessly giving his all to everyone.
His death was so sudden, one minute he got sick then he was diagnosed with cancer then he went on chemo and then he died, like 123, all too fast to comprehend, but Jerry always did things fast he was always running at full speed ahead in any given situation,
I have never seen anyone with so much energy like Jerry had.
I know that the world has really lost something special when Jerry left, and what Jerry had can never be replaced, but I know that Jerry is in a better place now then when he was here on earth but he still has left a lasting mark on all that met him, he left all of us with that special something that only Jerry could give you.
It took me awhile to complete this page as I couldnt bring myself to write it for awhile because of missing him so much, but I am glad that I wrote this because it helps me to vent and at the same time to remember all those good times we had, Jerry I will always love you and miss you my Brother.
I wrote this with much tears & laughter all at the same time,
and I hope that I will see Jerry again so that we can laugh and joke just like we used too.
Farewell Jerry till we meet again, you will always be missed.
