Fourth largest Lutheran Church body in America, the AFLC is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where it operates a Bible school, theological seminary for training pastors, and maintains a full component of global and domestic missions, resources for congregational ministries, and publications. Uniquely congregational in polity (each congregation is independent and self-controlled), the AFLC has also historically maintained a conservative approach to biblical, social and moral issues, maintaining a high view of the scriptures.
