After all

I used to be Narco back in season 1, but as soon as Jess came into the picture I found this pairing much more appealing. I haven't called myself a Literati until a few years ago though. I always had a soft spot for Rory and Jess, but I actually realized that it was more than that when I decided to re-watch the entire show from the beginning.

It's been a great experience and I'm glad I did it 'cause I found myself totally captivated by these two.

I thought that from their first encounter in "Nick&Nora, Syd and Nancy" their meeting oozed possibilities and showed a chemistry that can't really be compared to Dean/Rory or even Logan/Rory. Although I loved the innocence and first love feelings of D/R and I’ve learned to appreciate Logan and Rory towards the end of season 6 (while I totally despised them before), I find Rory and Jess much more compelling. They know each other very well and have always had this great connection. Jess really was the first guy who made her feel alive. The first guy who challenged her without actually changing her own character. The first boyfriend who had so many interests in common with her despite the opposite character… and Rory made him become a better person. She inspired him to become the man he is today. I will always hope to see them finding their way back in the end. Though given the last events on the show, I’m not holding my breath.

Premise: I was watching a LoVe video made by louloucn with this song and I immediately fell in love with the lyrics.  I think it perfectly describes the way Jess has been thinking and feeling since the end of season 3. He has definitely always been sure of his unconditional love for Rory and has been trying to convince her of his true intentions during the past 3 seasons. He just can’t believe that now, after all this time, they are back at the beginning: talking and enjoying their time together just happy to see each other again.

I’ve never been really interested in Rory’s love life aside from Jess.

I did enjoyed the most of her relationships (at least in the previous seasons) ‘cause they all had a part in her growth as a character, but I never rooted for anyone.

I liked Dean. He was sweet and caring … The perfect first love, but I couldn’t stand to see them together in season 4 and 5. It was clear from the start that their relationship was over. They were just desperately trying to hold-on to a past that didn’t exist anymore to feel safe.

Then there was Tristan. He was a great character IMO. He could be frustrating and upsetting at times ,but Rory and him had a good chemistry together and a great banter. I whish Chad had stayed a little longer ‘cause I would’ve liked to see his character being developed a little more.

I’ve always felt like the writers deep down knew his potential and ,since Chad wasn’t available anymore, they tried to re-create him in Logan (Who is nothing but a softer version of Tristan imo). I have to admit ,though, that while I wouldn’t have minded a romance btw R/T, I most definitely don’t consider myself a Sophie. It’s not that I hate Logan or something, I just don’t feel IT when they’re on-screen together. I didn’t like the way they entered into a relationship and I didn’t like the way the relationship itself was handled by the writers back in season 5 and in the first half of season 6. I only learned to appreciate them with the very last episodes of season 6 (Who wouldn’t be touched by their tearful goodbye in “Partings”?).

Whereas a guy I always loved was and is Marty.

Such a sweetie. I do not think that Rory and him could work as a couple (they’re way too similar imo) but I’ve always enjoyed their interaction and their friendship. Whenever she’s with him it’s like we’re seeing the ‘Old’ Rory once again.
