DOG: Apricot Standard Poodle
Posted on Best Friends Tuesday, when William Morgan, a disabled (double amputee) Vietnam vet was reunited with his apricot standard poodle, Morgan La Faye. The two have a remarkable story, which is on the Best Friends website. And two volunteers drove Morgan the dog down to Miami, where William is at a V.A. hospital. CBS TV covered the reunion.
DOG: 2 Cockers
Just got an email from person that found these 2 cockers and posted them on petfinder classifieds. They were reunited with owners that lived 4 doors down and picked up on Sept 30. No need to look for their owners anymore.

Owner is aware of their location. Saddly, not sure if reunification will occur, because owner does not want kitties to have to fly again.

Dog: Buddy
Buddy found his family! This dog's name is Buddy and
the owner is Betty Miller 337.794.3489. Betty has
spoken with the woman who found and is currently
fostering Buddy and he will be returning home Petfinder # 39628
Cat: Rescued from Vets office
The kitty whose owner I just located told me his story...
His 80-something year old mother had to evacuate, so she boarded her cat with the veterinarian. The vet also evacuated, but a vet tech stayed with the animals. The water rose, and he moved them to the second floor, it rose again and he took them to the third floor, it rose again and he took them to the roof (where he microchiped every one of them). Then the vet returned in a canoe and took the tech and 29 animals one by one to a feed store. From the feed store they were taken to Lamar....and from there the kitty wound up in the Memphis Shelby animal shelter. Wow!

Dog: Max the Poodle
AS many of you are aware, my partner and I run a rescue group called Bichons and Buddies. On September 30, we received a frantic call from a woman in Michigan regarding her dog Max. Dianne and her family - including Max - had to evacuate their home in New Orleans when Katrina hit -
Please read their story below - and know that I cried when Dianne called today to say that Max had been found!
This family has lost everything - their landlord in New Orleans called to tell them that the house they had rented had burned to the ground - with their car in the driveway.
Dianne tells us that none of that matters to them - they are all safe tonight - including Max.
Pit Bull dog PF 47704 - I found the owners in Vicksburg, MS - the female dog, "Misdemeanor", was in the EARS shelter in Monroe, LA. I contacted them yesterday and they made the 60+mile trip last night and got their girl.
The family was missing two other Pits - both males. I found them both today on Petharbor.com. Just had to tediously go through page after page but they were listed with their "Found at 2105 Penniston".... One dog, "Hercules", LA2696, ID#A002575, is now in the AZ Humane Society and the other, "Terror", LA2749, ID#A004436, is in the Tulsa (OK) shelter. The family has been contacted and they will be pursuing a way to get their dogs.

The small white dog that wandered over into Jefferson Parish is reunited with his people. The good people on the Kenner forum put the "found" post together with the "lost" post and voila!-a reunion after 9 days of searching.

9063. FOUND: Small white dog, very sweet by jklm, 10/6/05 18:16 ET This little guy (20 lbs?) wandered into where I'm staying just over the parish line in Jefferson (Harding and Jefferson Highway). He has a rabies tag, but that info was a dead end (all they could determine is he got his rabies shot on Downman Road). He's more or less all white, and looks like a Bison Friche mix, or possibly a poodle-terrier mix. He has a thin purple collar with white paws on it. He's incredibly sweet and well-behaved, and I know someone must be looking for him. I'm only here to check on my house and will be returning to Texas on Saturday. At that point I will have to turn him over to a shelter (I already have four dogs), unless I find someone to foster him. If you know who he might belong to, or might be able to foster him if it comes to that (I hate to put him in a shelter) please call 504-274-7486.
