The Looking Glass

Where is it, where all men wish to go?

The Plot

One after another, people start falling under mysterious comas and never wake up. The people that are comatose begin to dream a very real dream, somehow linked to the dreams of everybody else. The dream becomes its very own alternate dimension where the dreamers are forever trapped and will never wake up.

In this dream world, which the people come to call "The Looking Glass", everyones fantasies come to life before their very eyes. Sentient beings populate the vast world of The Looking Glass, often taking the forms of anthropomorphic animals of all species, or massive beasts from video games and novels such as Final Fantasy or the Dragonlance books. Life seems quite good in this world, totally forgetting the problems of the outside and fall in love with their new lives. Towns spring up, jobs are given and everyone is happy.

Centuries pass in The Looking Glass and the original dreamers have disappeared, leaving their children which were born to them. The bodies in the real world have withered and died peacefully. However, the government still doesn't understand how those people fell into the coma in the first place and become even more frantic as group of people, young children, fall into the same condition at the same time.

These children find themselves in the world of The Looking Glass and suffer from a huge case of amnesia. As they journey to discover who they were, the story unfolds. This is where you come in, and write their tales.

What I want you to do is to write a story in the perspectives of the children or the original dreamers with this setting. You can help me write tales and legends of this world to make it more realistic and believable.

That's it!

Yes, that would be the introduction to the site. Pretty cool, eh?

I made this site out of passion. I find joy in creating stories of fantasy and wondering what people would do in a situation. My name is McKenzie G. Sauder, the writer of several fiction stories, but on here, I'm just the Chronicler.

On this site, I'll post my stories of the universe called The Looking Glass and you post your side stories to it in the forums, marked 'The Tales'. What you write may affect my stories to make them interesting, so it is all a joint effort of us all. I look forward to reading your contribution to my story.
