Meet and greet the locals through the day, a possible visit or park at the end of town let the community view the motorcycles and their handlers.

All meet in the bar at North Gregory Hotel trivia Night 1900hrs till late.  If you're not there then it means you're not.  By the way in what year was the North Gregory Hotel built?  Name three people of note who slept above the bar?  Why is the bike fence so named?  Who was the bloke with three legs diddle de diddle dum?

 

 

Mt Isa Tuesday 24 April 2007

On arrival at Mt Isa it would be best for all riders to book into their respective accommodations then meet up as follows on your bikes.

Every one will meet at 5.30pm on the 24th at the bike shop which is located on Camooweal Street number 125 it is 1 block in from the main street, plenty of parking for everyone. We will then do a ride through town which will go for about an hour and then meet back at the bike shop  where we will hold a BBQ dinner at $10 per head, there will be soft drinks, tea and coffee available as well. This will enable everyone a nice early night for your early start the next morning.  All riders are encouraged to participate and many thanks to Joy Strang and Margie McDonlad RFDS Rodeo Queen Entrant.

10:00           RFDS Long Riders & Escort Riders depart Katherine  TBA on the day staggered start of groups of 10 riders 10  minutes apart and re-group at Adelaide river for group entry to Darwin

11:50           Arrive Pine Creek (90 km)

12:50           Depart Pine Creek

14:00           Arrive Adelaide River (110 km) – visit War Cemetery?

14:30           Depart Adelaide River in one group for the ride into Darwin escorted by the Patriots and NT Police

15:30           Assemble all participants at Coolalinga (for grand entrance into Darwin)  this is the main grouping point

16:00           Arrive Darwin (115 km)

           RFDS Long Riders return home at their leisure (via Kakadu?)

           Kakadu Run:

           Darwin – Windows on the Wetlands – thence on to Bark Hutt Inn (~91 km) - refuel

           Bark Hutt Inn – Jabiru (163 Km) – Refuel

           Head north to visit Ubirr Rock

           Head south to Cooinda (Yellow Waters - ~60km)

                   – refuel and overnight x2?

           Next Day Visit Nourlangie Rock and other attractions.

           Following day ride Cooinda – Pine Creek (149 km) – refuel

           Reverse of ride up.
