Introduction

Firemaking, a skill thought to be useless by many. But is it really? Firemaking actually has a few uses. It is used in requirements for quests and other things. For example, you need to go into a dungeon which requires a light source for a slayer task. You have to venture in quite deep and/or stay there for a long time. You need a good light source. You glance across to have a look at your firemaking level and realise you can't light one of the good light sources. Firemaking can also just be used to gain total experience or levels.

Candles & Lanterns (Members Only)

Lanterns or candles are essential for going into some P2P caves; you will need a tinderbox along with the firemaking level to light it. Lighting a lantern or candle gives no firemaking experience.

All lanterns except the Bullseye lantern and the Sapphire lantern (enhanced bullseye), Might blow out, so it is suggested that you bring the best lantern for your firemaking level. Also, if you fall into the water, your lantern will go out (except for the bullseye).

If your Lantern goes out, or if you enter the Cave with no light source, you will get a message in your textbox and will start to get attacked very rapidly.

The Black candle and black lantern (black candle in a candle lantern) are quest items from the Merlin’s Crystal quest. The sapphire lantern is from the Tears of Guthix quest. The mining helmet can be worn on the head, and like the bullseye lantern, will not blow out.

Barbarian Pyre Ships

Pyre ships can be build after doing Barbarian Training. They are good for Crafting, Firemaking, and Prayer

Pyre ships Are built with a log, A tinderbox (or a bow) and Chewed Bones. Chewed bones are a drop from Mithril Dragons (which are also part of Barbarian training)

After you have all the required items, go to a pyre site, and click “Construct pyre site”

Depending on what Log you used, you can bury bones with a 300% xp bonus, you will also get a textbox message.

Along with the xp bonus, you will get an item, the rarest, is the Dragon Full helm.

Baloons

After completing An Enlightened Journey you can use Auguste's Hot air balloon’s to travel all over RuneScape.

If you wish to travel to different places over RuneScape, you will have to first unlock the route, then you have to use a single log to fly.

You will have to use a single log of the same kind as you used to unlock the route EACH time you wish to use a balloon route.
