Custom Nosebands for Halters, Hackamores & Enduro Bridles
These nosebands can be added to most standard designs to simply enhance the appearance of the rope item or to have a particular colour combination to match other tack or team/club colours but each design does have individual characteristics that can improve the response to rein cues or help address specific concerns with an individual horse. These nosebands are not problem solving miracle cures but a logical progression from the standard rope halter/hackamore once the horse has learned to give to pressure and follow a cue.
1. HAND BRAIDED NOSEBAND
This style sits securely on the horses face and has good ‘grip’ in all directions so an ideal noseband for riding or training direct rein cues. The larger surface area also spreads pressure over the nose. We have 3 braid options including a couple of 2 colour patterns
2. TUBE NOSEBAND
The tube has a smoother surface and spreads pressure over a wider area so this style offers comfort for a sensitive horse. The added weight and structure of the tube helps to reduce excessive movement around the horses face when riding or using direct rein cues.
3. 3.5mm BRAID COILED HALF BOSAL NOSEBAND
This noseband has good ‘grip’ for Left/Right direct rein cues but still easily slides up/down the face for the quick release of pressure. The noseband is thinner and can produce severe localized pressure; we would expect a certain amount of training to have been completed before looking at riding hackamores. The Noseband is as soft as the hands holding the reins
4. 6mm BRAID HALF BOSAL NOSEBAND
This is the original Half Bosal with vertical coils wrapped around the regular noseband. These coils allow easy movement up/down the face to quickly release pressure but ‘grip’ the nose when Left/Right directional rein cues are applied. It removes a lot of the sloppiness and excessive movement around the face experienced with regular rope halters when riding.
