Tips on Taking Surveys

Despite what you may have seen on the Internet, you are not going to get rich doing surveys. You will make some money, earn prizes and gift certificates, but you must qualify for the entire survey to earn these incentives. I average about 1 out of 10 surveys that I actually qualify for an incentive. Most sites will reward you with a few points or an entry into a sweepstakes or drawing for attempting to complete the survey if you do not qualify for the incentive. Most sites only send out about 2 surveys per month. The more sites you signup for, the greater the earning potential and you never know...you just might win! The Sweepstakes are for real, I have personally won!

Some sites will send out surveys that will enter you in a drawing and may actually be 'screener' surveys. These 'screener' surveys are sent to see if you qualify for a paid survey. The survey sites also use these 'screener' surveys just to see if you are serious about taking surveys before they will send you out paid surveys. It is best to complete as many surveys as you can. After signing up for a site, it could be up to three months before you start getting the 'real paid' surveys. Hang in there, the wait and patience is worth it. MySurveys (by NFO) and Lightspeed are two sites that you can start earning points towards cash or merchandise immediately without the screener surveys. I highly recommend signing up for these two sites first! One of the best survey sites on the web is called Pinecone Research. This site does not always take sign-ups. You must look for a referral link or pop up banner while surfing the web. If you see it, make sure to click it. You may be accepted for the Pinecone survey panel or you may not (it depends on what they need at the time).

You may want to consider using a separate e-mail account set up for receiving the survey invitations once you get going and are recieving a ton of survey invitations. This will help keep your personal mail and your survey invitation mails seperate. It is VERY important that you add the e-mail addresses for the invitations to your address book or 'white' list before you hit the final submit button on the survey site. Most sites send out an e-mail to confirm your e-mail address and you must click on the link in the e-mail to activate your account. Recommended sites for survey invitation e-mails are Yahoo and Hotmail. Another option is to just 'purchase' more e-mail space if you need it. I mostly use my Yahoo e-mail for the sites I know will send out the 'junk' e-mail, sites like free samples, non-survey sweepstakes and etc. I currently use my personal e-mail for the survey invitations because I learned the hard way of how to keep the 'junk' e-mail down. Do not use your primary e-mail on websites or in guestbooks. If you have a website, set your e-mail up in this format to keep the search robots from finding it....my e-mail is lbrewer93 at netzero.com I simply substituted the '@' for 'at' and spaced out the words.

It will take some time to join all the survey sites that are out there. There is a product called Roboform that can help speed up the process by filling in the common questions for you. I do not use this product, so I can't be much help in explaining how it works. You can do a search and find this item easily. I have tried very hard not to include any survey links that will send you a bunch of e-mail wanting you to buy!!!! Some of the sites I am still fairly new on, so I apologize if I missed one. I have also not included what kind of rewards the sites offer, as it took up too much room. All the sites are pretty straight forward on what you will receive for participation right on their sites. I have some links to sites that primarily deal with sweepstakes because I enjoy these. Please take the time to look at what the site is offering before signing up and then you can pick and choose the ones you wish to participate in.

Why does this site have more links than other sites?

If you have looked at other sites listing free links to survey sites and found only 10-20 links, it is because these are affiliate links only. Affiliate links mean that when someone clicks on the link and signs up, the sites get credit or paid for this action. These sites list only the affiliate links. Yes, even I have some affiliate links in my list. Almost all of my links are non affiliate links and I will not receive anything more than the pleasure of passing the valuable information on to you!
