Breastfeeding is a simple and natural process, but you may need support and information on the correct positioning of the baby at the breast, working and breastfeeding, avoiding problems, and overcoming difficulties that may occur. Knowing other women who have breastfed their babies can be helpful and reassuring. Having accurate, up-to-date information is also important. Attending La Leche League Meetings can help you learn about breastfeeding from other nursing mothers. At these monthly meetings, mothers share not only their questions and concerns, but also the benefits and joys of breastfeeding. Being in touch with La Leche League can give you the network of support you need.
Babies are always welcome at our meetings as well as all women interested in breastfeeding. You need not be pregnant or have a family to attend. These meetings are a great place to meet other breastfeeding mothers and get more information and encouragement to nurse your baby. You may attend any of our meetings.
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. About La Leche League
La Leche League International (LLLI) was founded in 1956 by seven women who wanted to make breastfeeding easier and more rewarding for both mother and child. Today, LLLI is an international organization active in 66 nations worldwide, reaching more than 200,000 people monthly through a network of nearly 8,000 accredited Leaders who work on a volunteer basis.
LLLI is recognized by the World Health Organization as the world's foremost authority on breastfeeding.
