Sami

Name: Sami Yuutsu.
Meaning: Sami is a variation of my dog’s name, Sammy (which is short for Samantha, which means “The Listener.” o.O) Yuutsu means “depression” in Japanese.
Gender: Male.
Age: 22.
Date of Birth: December 26, 1981.
Astrological Sign: Capricorn.
Blood Type: AB.
Species: ½ Human – ½ Cetra.
Hair: Chestnut, short, naturally messy, falls in his eyes no matter what he does.
Eyes: Eerie glowing brown.
Skin: Pale.
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 130 lbs.
Other Description: He has big, black, feathered retractable demon wings, but he's actually no longer a servant of Hell. He’s a bit too skinny but pulls it off, and usually dresses plainly. He also has really faint, thin, white scars around his neck and wrists and, thanks to Lai Li, a tattoo on his upper arm, shaped like a heart with the word “Bella-san” in it.
Favorite Color: Blue.
Family: Dead sister, Koura. Dead parents, Makoto and Qiana. Jenova is sort of his ‘mother.’ Bella is his husband and Juliet is their daughter, though they'll soon be having a real daughter, to be named Koura.
Friends/Lovers: Bella is, of course, his one and only, though he has been the unwilling lover of Cojin on several occasions. Other friends are (or have been @.@) Aza, Nyanko, Saule, Piper, Kate, Inomi, Fue-chan, Lai Li, Dana, Sami-neko, Nikuma, Ukanai, Kveld, MiShi…etc.
Enemies: Jenova, Cojin (in a way), Jerome kind of… FF no Miko likes to torment him when she’s around.
Hobbies: Walking Juliet, clinging to Bella-san, slicing himself with razor blades.
Skills/Talents: He’s pretty skilled with a shuriken, though he won’t even pick one up voluntarily.
Special Powers: Flight (actually, useless wings). He has learned a lot of Cetra abilities, as well as some extremely strange negative and destructive abilities that he gets from the Planet, too. Because of the mako in his body, he has super magnified senses, doesn’t get sick, and is a hard guy to kill. Oh yeah, and he can summon the guardian of death.
Items: Wedding rings. Shuriken, only when under someone else’s control.
Occupation: Kate’s Seishi, dark minion of sorts.
Goals/Ambitions: To somehow make up for what he’s done.
Habits: Running into things and falling over a lot from the mako, calling everyone ‘-san,’ apologizing for everything, being self-destructive.
Good Points: Kind, polite, sweet, self-sacrificing, interesting sense of humor…
Bad Points: Guilty, clumsy, self-loathing, shy, often depressed, weak-willed.
Likes: Instant pudding, ponies.
Dislikes: Himself, being controlled.
Fears: Heights, sex, small spaces, Jenova, needles, being on anything fast-moving, being alone.
Motto: “Gomen nasai.”
Seiyuu: Ueda Yuuji.
Actor: Tobey Maguire.
History: Many years ago, a company called Shinra Inc. began a project that would remain ongoing for years to come. It was called The Jenova Project and, to make a long story short, it involved taking the cells of the sealed evil entity, Jenova, and injecting them into select humans, to create “super-humans”. These people could be very useful to a power-hungry corporation, as you can imagine. The initial experiments were, at once, a success and a failure. Only about 15% of the people injected survived, and only 25% of those were even functional. But that small percentage of people displayed enhanced strength, senses, and regenerative abilities, among other things.
It wasn’t long before the Jenova Project was shut down, but there were a
substantial amount of Jenova “puppets” (as they would come to be known) by that
time. Jenova Herself did not have direct control over those who were injected;
they maintained at least marginal free-will. But their offspring were a different story.
Jenova’s cells were passed on through reproduction with a vengeance, and the
results were aggressive, bloodthirsty people whose bodies and
souls
were not only owned by Jenova, but a part of Her.
In the late 1960’s, when there were still a few (very few) living Cetra, and Jenova was still focusing her puppets on killing them all off, something unusual occurred. A man named Makoto Yuutsu was one of Jenova’s puppets, but he was a rare sort for his time. The sort that had been injected directly with Her cells. He had free-will and the ability to love, and as fate would have it, the woman he fell in love with was one of the few remaining Cetra, someone named Qiana Leliel.
It was an unfortunate match. Talk about star-crossed lovers. And it was even more unfortunate when they (quite mistakenly) got pregnant with a little girl. They had no idea how a Cetra-Jenova puppet would turn out, but neither of them wanted to abort. Unfortunately, several months in, Qiana started getting some nasty cramps. Since Qiana’s kind had connections with the Chadara (See Piper’s history), the unlikely couple sought the help of doctors on Grouchoon. The Chadaran doctors told them that such a contradictory child could not exist, but proposed a solution.
They would split the unborn child’s soul in half. They would keep the Cetra half (their payment for the procedure), and Jenova’s half would remain. When the child was born, she would be taught to control her own will (which she would have) and ignore that of Jenova’s. By the time she reached 18, she would be strong enough to have the other half of her soul returned to her. There would be an internal battle, but she would be prepared. She would get very sick, but when she pulled through, she would be a healthy Cetra, and she would be free of Jenova forever.
And this was precisely what happened. And everything progressed smoothly, and the three of them lead relatively happy lives, despite constantly running from other puppets. 13 years after Koura was born, however, Qiana got pregnant again. Time for another soul-split. The procedure was repeated with the unborn Sami, and things would continue the same way.
But when Sami was 2 and Koura was 16, both parents were murdered by Jenova. Due to their unusual circumstances, Koura was forced to drop out of school and raise her little brother on her own. She spent most of her life working, and they were poor, but she was able to give Sami a halfway decent life. She never told him of their parents, though she always meant to. And she told him how to ignore the will of Jenova, though she didn’t tell him what it was he was ignoring. He was very young, after all.
When Sami was 6, he got curious. He gave into the will of Jenova, despite all of his sister’s warnings, became possessed, and murdered two 6-year-old girls on the way home from school. He went home in shock and that was when Koura realized what a big mistake she had made, never explaining it to him. She explained it to him then, but it was already too late. Jenova had taken control. Sami still had free will but Jenova could easily override that by causing him intense pain until he gave in, as she did with her original puppets.
Eight years and ten murders (that Sami remembers) later, Koura was gang-raped and killed while roaming the dangerous city streets in the middle of the night, looking for her wandering little brother. Luckily, she had regained her Cetra soul before this happened. Sami dropped out of school then, as he would have to worry about supporting himself. He always killed those who got close to him, and eventually decided that isolation was the best policy. People were in danger when they were near him, so he would have to just be alone.
After a few insanely lonely and guilt-ridden years, he met a bubbly catgirl named Nyanko. Who knows how Nyanko does it, but she convinced Sami to join up as one of Kate’s seishi. He moved to Llanon with them shortly thereafter, where he managed to make a lot of friends and fall in love with Bella. It was with the arrival of Jerome that his identity as a Jenova puppet was revealed (Jerome’s fiancée was one of Sami’s victims), but his friends at Llanon loved him unconditionally.
Well, lots of stuff happened. ^^; I’ll just name the important events. He eventually broke free of Jenova after finding the Cetra half of his soul locked inside a kitten (named, interestingly enough, Sami-neko) and then going through a death-revival procedure with Caoine, the Guardian of Death.
He sold said soul to Satan, at one point, in order to help Inomi, and this was when he gained his wings. He got the soul back, eventually, and was freed so that he just had free access to hell, whenever he felt like going down there (heh).
When he started getting sick and Piper discovered it was his body’s lack of Jenova cells, something needed to be done. The best replacement for the cells would be mako. So he got a mako infusion, and received all the benefits and unfortunate side-effects of such an infusion.
And he got married to Bella! And lost his memories for a while… but he got them back, and then Bella got pregnant a while later. Cojin, being a little bit obsessed with Sami, had to come along and be a little prick by taking the unborn child, and Andromeda helped him out by changing him into a woman and putting the child inside of him...
Other Info: Sami is monochromatic, meaning he doesn’t see color. He also can’t make tears. These are more permanent effects of Mako poisoning.
