People say to get started in the art world, you need drawing capabilities, but that is simply not true. Art is about expressing yourself on paper, or any other surface you can find. Sure to pass exams and get the grades you need talent, but not to be satisfied with your ideas, and putting them onto 'canvas.'
The first thing I would say is to but yourself a good book, go to your local bookshop or library. The book you need will give you tips on basic drawing; things like perspective, shading and different mediums. A basic 'how to' guide will get you through anything, whether it be sketching or painting
