1. the first thing the chassis needed was a clean and some oil, the condition wasn't bad mainly because it had lived in a workshop for years, but it was covered in coal dust and oil. After an inspection i cleaned it and left it in the garage for a while so i could do school work. The bolts you see were added by me later on, they hold the footplate to the chassis.

2. In this view you can see the timber frame I made up for the footplate (what the body will sit on). It is made of timber but I was worried this would give way so I got an old fence post, cut it down and bolted it on. the chassis is now so strong i can stand on it without damage.
