The Livingstone Performing Arts Foundation was conceived in November 2006. It has taken a long time to make this dream a reality. In January 2009, over 120 residents of Zambia were auditioned which resulted in 16 actors being hired for the first show entitled "African Shoes". On March 17, four musician were also hired along with a stage manager.

WHY A THEATRE SHOW?
Livingstone is the home ofVictoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. As such, it is the tourist capital of Zambia attracting over 500,000 visitors per year from all over the world. Several large resorts already exist and more are being built. The Livingstone Performing Arts Foundation (LiPAF) was established to provide these visitors with the ultimate cultural experience. In addition to providing full time employment in the arts, the money raised from ticket sales will go to support needy families and sponsor a variety of organizations such as schools, sports teams, and cultural organizations. Unlike most charities, LiPAF will be raising its own money as opposed to seeking ongoing donations from the developed world.
