African Shoes

It has taken two years to write the dialogue and songs for "African Shoes". We owe much thanks to the many local experts who helped develop the story in keeping with Zambian tradition.

"African Shoes" tells the story of a young man, named Makandauko, who must forgo his dream of becoming a doctor when his father falls ill. The audience takes a walk in Makandauko's shows as he rises to the challenges of his destiny. The story is told through the stories, music, song, dance, ceremonies and way of life of the Toka Leya - the people of the Falls.
