I can hear the bells!

'Tis wedding season and I've already attended one for my lovely friend Bekah Young (formerly Greenlee).

The next in line to get hitched (and who I am honored to be a bridesmaid for) is Ms. Jacklynn Voke on November 25th, 2006. She is marrying a wonderful man by the name of Justin Walters. It's quite a sweet story of how they got engaged, so I'm just going to include a copy of what she wrote. Break out the kleenex:

I, Jacklynn Voke, am ENGAGED!!!

I know you want to know all about him, and how and all so here it goes.

His name is Justin Walters and he is 25. I met him about 2 years ago through ...an ex-bf. At that time I was preoccupied and he would not dare gonna look at a friends girl, he isn't like that even when he knew he could treat me better. No offense, but the ex and I were just not meant to be. So anyway, I never really looked at him that way because he was just a good friend and kinda like a brother. But then my mom, sisters, friends... you name it I heard "Well what about Justin?" I was like no way, I don't see it working. Well I finally agreed to 1 date and at that time in my life I was simply not ready God had to do some work on me. So needless to say that date did not go over very well. A few months went by and in November I decided to go on a fast 2 days into the fast Justin calls me to straighten things out between us because we were ignoring each other and all, it was just awkward! So we talked things through and then had some small talk and by the time I got off the phone I was saying to myself, "He is amazing, Jacklynn you better wake up!!!!" So that night I just prayed that God would let me see Justin as He did and that if anything was suppose to happen He needed to intervene! So my fast went on for 20 days and by the end I was convinced that Justin was the man for me if he would consider me again after the way I had treated him. So I was bold and just told him I wanted to talk to him and that night I told him how I felt about him and that I could really see this going somewhere. And boy did it... So we started dating the week after Thanksgiving. We knew from the start where it was going.

So last Friday night he gathered close friends and family at my house for a Christmas get together, little did I know what was truly going to happen that night. We all settled to the family room and he had told me earlier that he wanted me to hear a song he had figured out how to play for me. So we all sat down and gradually I caught on, a video camera was brought out, a camera, he sat a chair down right in front of me, everyone was kinda quiet and was just having small talk...very weird, and then it hit me. So there we all are and he starts playing my favorite worship song "You Said", by Shane & Shane. Then he plays 2 country LOVE songs, the whole time I am thinking, oh my goodness, this is it! Then he reaches in his bag and pulls out a box and comes over and gets down on one knee and asks the question I have longed to hear all my life..."Will you marry me?" and I say "Yes" then he says "Are you sure?" and I say, "Yes, I'm sure!!!" It was so beautiful, the whole room was crying. So there you are.
