The 2005 season ended on a high note with Live Oak taking second place in the inaugural Pacific Coast RFC High School Invitational Tournament, losing 24-12 to East Palo Alto.  The competition was held on May 15 and 16 at Stanford University's Stueber Stadium.  Teams from Northern California, Southern California and Utah competed under blue skies and warm weather. To get to the finals, Live Oak defeated Fullerton Youth RFC twice on Saturday and in the semi-finals, defeated Skyhawk champion Silicon Valley 24-17 to earn a trip the trip to the finals. For their outstanding play, Dustin Muhn and Mark Pimentel made the All Tournament team and were placed in the U-19 National Team player pool.  Live Oak finished the season with an 8-6-1 mark.
