Little Wiskers Gerbils

Where Gerbils Rule!

Welcome to my Site!

I am Shaina. I live in Southern NH with my husband and three kids. I started breeding gerbils when I was just 12 years old. I gave it up when my breeding female died. I couldnt bring myself to replace her, so I let my male live out the rest of his life with one of his sons for company and sold the rest. Fast foward 14 years and many breeding programs later, and I now have 3 girls and no pets save a cat that wants nothing to do with me. I was lonely for animal companionship when I was picking up fish in my local petstore. There in the small animals section was the most addorable little gerbil. He was a Golden Agouti as i would find out later, with a spot on his head and neck. He came right into my hand and cuddled up and my heart melted. I knew my cousin had just swiched her Hamster out of her old cage and into a slightly bigger one so I asked if I could have her original. After securing the cage i went back and picked up Rouge along with all the other supplys i could lay my hands on. Knowing the social nature of gerbils I decided to get Rouge a companion of the female type. I went to a pet shope a little further away so as to try and get a female unrelated to him and found Fin. She is a solid Lillac who was just as affectionate as Rouge. I put them in together and it was love at first site. Both were only 6 to 7 weeks old but they got along famously from the beginning. So began my latest escapades into gerbil breeding. Knowing that what little experiance I had from my first forray I decided to check the Web to see what I could find for more info on the subject. Thats when I found AGS and Story Books Pocket Pets. I started up an email exchange with the owner of Story Books and read up as much as possable about everything Gerbil, genetics, gestation, coat colors... everything I could get my hands on. So here I am today, saving up to enter the AGS and increasing my breeding program almost monthly. I hope you enjoy seeing my special friends and please keep looking back for new additions that are added constantly. If you are iterested in adopting one of these sweet companions please email me. I want to say a special thanks to my father, Michael Noyes, for taking all the wonderful pictures you see here. Enjoy yourself and I hope to hear from you soon!

I had two of my gerbils place in the show wich had over 100 entries. Silver Ranger came in first in the self class, and Rouge, aka Lancelot, got third in the spot class. I learned a lot, got some new gerbils for my gerbil program and had a lot of fun! A special thanks to Hillary and Christine for helping me on this crazy day! I will go into next years show with new knowledge and a better edge. I will be updating my pictures and geneology soon, so check back. I have quite a few new faces to add to the list:).
