Altering A Composition Tablet

Supplies:
  • Composition Tablet
  • 2 Sheets of DS paper 6" x 9-11/16" (for front and back covers) - I'm using DS paper form the paper series called "Pop Rockz" in this tutorial.
  • 1 Sheet of DS paper 5" x 9-11/16" (for bind) - I used a corner round punch to make the scallop edging, then took a 1/8" hole punch and punched the mids of each scallop.
  • Modge Podge
  • Brush for MP
Everything else is optional - use stamps and other embellishments if desired.

Apply MP to the back of DS paper sized 6" x 9-11/16". Cover entire back of DS paper, and do it quickly, as MP dries pretty quickly.

Line up with edges of tablet, and smooth DS paper down, to remove any air pockets. Do the back cover as well.

Take DS paper for bind, and wrap around, so that the DS paper takes shape to the tablet's spine.

Apply MP to the entire back of the DS paper for the spine. I went right over the punches, without worry - as MP will dry clear. Adhere the DS paper to the spine of the tablet, carefully lining up the DS paper's edges to the edges of the tablet.

Apply MP to the entire covered tablet. I do this to add a pretty glaze to the notebook. I love MP!!!

Now take an image (non-TAC here), and sentiment "Memories" which is perfect for what I am trying to create. Which is from TAC's "More Elegant Sentiments". I've layered my image, then adhere to tablet with MP. I then covered completely with MP, to seal it in. Image is colored using my Copic Markers. Tag is part of the "Pop Rockz" series.

Here is my finished tablet....
