Here is a simple favor box tutorial I re-did for using the Scor-Pal.  The Scor-Pal made this project so much easier and quicker to do, as all the score lines are there for me to use.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Scor-Pal
  • Scissors
  • 1/8” Hole Punch
  • Double-Stick Tape
  • Paper Cutter
  • 8-1/2” x 11” DS Paper (You can create 2 boxes with 1 sheet)
  • Ribbon

  Let's Begin:

Step 1:      Take the 8-1/2” x 11” DS paper, and cut in half at 5-1/2”.  You will be able to make 2 favor boxes with each ½ sheet.

Step 2:            Position your paper on to the Scor-Pal, width should be at 8-1/2”.  Score at 2”, 4”, 6” and 8”.

Step 3:       Turn paper 90 degrees, width should now be at 5-1/2”.  Score once at 2”.

Step 4:       Cut the score marks from the edge to 2” into the paper.  This will become the bottom of your box.  You will have four 2” slits after cutting them all.

Step 5:       Fold on all creases.

Step 6:          Open up your paper again, and face your paper down with design side up.  Attach double stick tape to 3 of the 2” squares, as well as the entire tab at the end on the right (thin tab).  ***Please note, on the thin tab, I attach the double stick tape as close to the crease as possible, as this is where the edges will meet up, and I do not want any gaps, or paper to look like it’s not sticking.

Step 7:      Flip your paper over, and adhere sticky tape to the bottom far right 2” square.  I put double stick tape on all 4 edges of that 2” piece.

Step 8:        Starting with the thin tab, attach the edges together, and create a square tube again, this time adhereing together.

Step 9:        Then to create your bottom, fold in each of the squares flaps that were cut, one on top of each other, with the last one being the one that has all 4 edges taped.

Step 10:          Flip so that the opening is now facing upwards.  To close the top, fold in both sides, and squeeze the tops together as though you are creating a milk carton.

Step 11:          Pinch together and punch two 1/8” holes.

Step 12:        Thread ribbon through the 2 holes that you've just punched.

Step 13:     Tie and your favor box is completed!
