About the Artist

Lisa Simon grew up in Santa Cruz, California. She spent much of her time as a child running around outside playing all sorts of made-up games, a quality that she never quite lost as an adult.

Lisa attended schools K-12 in Aptos, California, and then two years of Cabrillo College there as well. Her focus at Cabrillo was studio art.

In 2001 she decided that she wanted to broaden her horizons, and applied for a school in British Columbia for their Video Game Animation program. After being accepted there, she moved from California to British Columbia, Canada, to attend what was the Center for Digital Imaging and Sound (CDIS), though halfway through her schooling it was bought by the Arts Institute of Vancouver - Burnaby.

After graduating, she worked for Electronic Arts as a QA Tester, as well as for a recruitment agency, Angus One. As a temp, she found that she had more time to expand her abilities as an artist, building on the foundation that she had acquired in college and technical school.

Her art is strongly influenced by fantasy, science fiction, and various animated films, as well as graphic novels and nature. She loves organic and flowing lines.
