Welcome to Linux Zone, a web site dedicated to providing useful tutorials to help you get the best out of Linux. In particular this site is for:
- New users who need help installing and getting to grips with Linux
- Intermediate and more advanced users who want to customize their install
I have tried many Linux distributions over the last year but quickly settled for PCLinuxOS 2007 as the one to install on my home computer. I can highly recommend this distro to new users and to anyone who wants a more active community distro. Many of my guides here are written specifically for use with PCLinuxOS, but should work equally well in any other KDE and/or RPM based distro.
There are now a number of tutorials and articles and more content will continue to be added. I will add update details to this homepage as I add content (see below for details). Thanks for visiting and check back regularly!

After an initial rush of additions, you can be forgiven for thinking that I have ground to a halt. Far from it, I am working on a solo project creating a series of PCLOS remasters based on Fluxbox. See the blog for more details. This will keep me busy for the next few weeks/months but I am learning so much about Linux in the process that it should inform a number of new tutorials in the future. If you are interested in my PCFluxboxOS project, please become a tester.

I have added a tutorial on how to set up a treble-boot system with Windows XP, PCLinuxOS and Ubuntu. I show you how to partition your drive and create a shared data partition from which you can access files from all 3 operating systems.

I have now started a blog where I will give my opinions on news and events in Linux and Open Source. I couldn't resist with a first entry about those deals with Microsoft. I'll try and update it weekly so check back regularly. Do further the debate by leaving comments

I have now added a distro-watching page where I will initially look at Ubuntu 7.04 and then other distros for comparison against PCLOS.
