11/26/2007 Long Island and Lincoln come to terms; Gary Boddy & Kelvin Street sign two year extensions as they head to Long Island in exchange for KC E1, Wayne Mitchell, Paris Schroeder

Just one day removed from the announcement that former Mobile Seamen head coach Troy Aikman would be taking over the head coach position on Long Island, the Mean Machine made a huge trade with the 2006 OIFL Cup Champion Lincoln Lightning, bringing in two of the top players in league history. The trade that has been signed off on by all parties reads:

Lincoln gets...
KC E1
DAL E2
2009 LI E1
OLDL Wayne Mitchell
WRDB Paris Schroeder

Long Island gets...
2009 LIN E1
OLDL Gary Boddy*
OS Kelvin Street*
OLDL Steve Marcius
WRDB Joshua Soames

*Both Boddy and Street agreed to two year contracts with Long Island, in order to complete the deal

Mean Machine Co-Owner Ryan Gonzaga had this to say one day after accepting his new role more on the business end of the franchise instead of the football field, "It was really hard letting guys like Wayne [Mitchell] and [Paris] Schroeder go. Paris was to date, our highest drafted player with a ton of upside, and Mitchell as well is an amazing sleeper that nobody could've predicted would turn out as good as he is now, let alone in his future. I know the Lightning will groom both of those young men into superstars. But with Gary Boddy and Kelvin Street being dangled in front of us, and being close to a deal with Brice [Pennington], I couldn't let this deal get away from me. If we had Boddy and Street over Schroeder and Mitchell Week 17 @ Tampa, it'd be Long Island in Memphis this past week, and probably Long Island @ Evansville this week. This is a serious move, that should push us over the top."

"The lineup next year?... 2005 MVP Brice Pennington, behind the young phenom Robert Quackenbush, 2001 MVP Gary Boddy and 2004 OIFL Cup Champion Pepper Woods, with HOF Runningback Pauly Dozer handling the carries, and 2005 OIFL Cup Champion Kelvin Street sharing the receptions with Pennington's favorite target, Deion Flanders. Defense you ask? Butch Blaze, Butch Blast... and the offseason has just begun," said the other Mean Machine Co-Owner, Jeff Rosenberg in regards to 2008.

The Mean Machine finished 3rd in the North East division, with a 10-6 (7-3) record, behind Detroit and New England in 2007.

YES Network Reporter (Mean Machine contributor) - Isrillean Bojack

[Isrillian Bojack's voice can be heard, as the camera shows an open podium with the Long Island Mean Machine logo spotted around the background of the podium. ]

Isrillean Bojack - Folks, I've been called here with the hundreds of reporters behind me at 11:30 AM this Friday morning by Mean Machine Co-Owner Jeff Rosenberg himself, for what he's describing as, "a shakeup". It could be one of many things. A sudden trade, new arena plans, or something else. My team insider is saying that it's time for the Mean Machine to bring in a new head coach, as first time head coach and known wrestler Argon has this talented team at only 4-4.

[A skinny older man comes running out, tests the microphone, then scurrys out.]

Isrillean Bojack - Oh! It seems like we're ready to go here!

[Cameras begin to flash, as both Mean Machine Co-Owners Jeff Rosenberg and head coach Ryan "Argon" Gonzaga come out. They approach the podium together.]

Ryan "Argon" Gonzaga - I personally will be taking responsibility for what the fans on Long Island are calling, an obismal first half. It is completely unacceptable, that a team with our talent is sitting at 4-4 at the All-Star break.

Jeff Rosenberg - This offseason, we made the moves that should have propelled us from a 7-10 team, to a playoff team, as we brought in future hall of famer Pauly Dozer, completely upgraded our line with Robert Quackenbush, Pepper Woods, Wayne Mitchell and Mike Hodge. Our receiving corps is pretty solid with Goodalle, Schroeder and Kennedy. Our run game is 4 deep with Paull and Colombo backing up Dozer. We've got a solid DS core. One of the top kickers in the game. So what's the problem coach?

Ryan "Argon" Gonzaga - This team is just not used to winning. Nothing I could've done would've won the games against Tucson, New England, Detroit and Minneapolis, because those teams have two things that we don't have, experience and heart.

Isrillean Bojack - It looks like Gonzaga is going to step down. I wonder who the next head coach will be?

Jeff Rosenberg - So a change has been made. As of 11:29 AM this morning, here are the newest members of the Long Island Mean Machine!

Isrillean Bojack - Members? The whole coaching staff?

[Behind the podium, a projector screen slides down. The lights dim as the screen projects an image in the middle of a lockerroom. The scene pans, and we see three players standing side by side. The cameras in the Pathmark Center flash irradically.]

Isrillean Bojack - OH MY GOD! Thats! Thats!

Jeff Rosenberg - Please give a warm New York welcome, to the three newest members of the Mean Machine. Mr. Deion Flanders, Butch Blast, and our new starting quarterback, Brice Pennington!!!

[Brice Pennington, Deion Flanders and Butch Blast all put on Mean Machine uniforms on the projector, and talk amongst themselves. The cameras are still flashing in Valley Stream, as questioning begins.]

Reporter 1 - Mr. Rosenberg, Mr. Gonzaga. What exactly was the trade that went down with Long Island and Mobile?

Jeff Rosenberg - It was a pretty hefty price to land three very experienced players, that will change the face of the Mean Machine. Long Island sent Tim Meyers, Juan King, Chas Bryant and Alex Walker, along with the Long Island and Jacksonville 1st round picks, and a check for 8 million dollars in exchange for those three on the screen.

Ryan "Argon" Gonzaga - Without a doubt we solve our problems. We needed another starting WRLB, as Chas Bryant just was underachieving, and Deion Flanders fills that role. Mike Cranston just has not been getting it done in the air, so we bring in a guy that knows what winning is all about, in Brice Pennington. And, one of the best defensive players in the league, Butch Blast comes in over Tim Meyers, to help shut down our opponents. So major upgrades on QB and DS, swap WRLBs, Alex Walker was expendable, and we give up 8 million and 2 mid E1s for the price of upgrading.

Jeff Rosenberg - No further questioning. Deion Flanders, Brice Pennington and Butch Blast are now members of the Mean Machine. And Chas Bryant, Alex Walker, Juan King and Tim Meyers are now Seamen.
