Who amoung us is really ready to get what they want?
Well, you better get ready, because if you want to make a film your going to have to put your big grrl panties on and deal with it. There are locations that need to be found, find them. Shot lists that need to be written, write them. When the scene comes to be shot, take it. It is yours, you've done the work, don't let it be taken from you. YOU are the director, OWN IT! Get out there, film GRRLS and do it, because it won't be handed to you because of your sex, it's your chutzpah thats going to make the difference!
Some of my favorite directors are: Robert Rodriguez, Ang Lee, Bruce Beresford, Zhang Yimou, Darren Aronofsky, Kenneth Branagh. What is sad, is that you don't notice any female names in the bunch. Am I saying that their aren't any good female directors? I'm sure there are, but as far as reaching out, setting style and influence, I just can't think of any. We must change that.
