This plant is called a Tropical Pitcher Plant or Monkeycup. It's latin name is
Nepenthese. It grows in rainforests in Maylasia. It's a whole different genus to the Trumpet Pitcher Plant but has the same sort of trap. The only difference is that this plant has jugs of digestive acid hanging off it's leaves instead of the entire leaf being an upright hollow tube. Again, there is nectar around the top of
the pitchers that attract insects that then fall in and get digested. Different species of this plant can have pitchers that grow to the size of your head!! Onc species called
N. Rajah has been known to catch whole rats and frogs. These plants are considered the kings of carnivorous plants!

[This Species is a Hybrid,
N x ventrata, often commenly mislabelled as
N. alata in Garden Centres]
