Levi's Star Children's Brain Tumour Charity

Supporting Children With Brain Tumours

Levi’s Star Children’s Brain Tumour Charity would like to wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and A Peaceful New Year ~ thank you for your support throughout 2014

In memory of Levi Ringer aged 6½ - shine on!

Who we are - we are LEVI'S STAR CHILDREN'S BRAIN TUMOUR CHARITY © (Registration No 1125433)

A charity which is run completely on a voluntary basis.

Since we started Levi’s Star Children's Brain Tumour Charity we have organised and taken part in lots of fundraising events.  These events have included an annual charity ball, a skydive, sporting events, sponsored walks, family fun days, coffee mornings, Christmas parties and pantomimes. We are always open to new ideas to fundraise, as without this essential part of our work  we would not be able to fulfil our objectives.  We also welcome others fundraising on our behalf.

Since August 2008, we have helped lots of children, suffering from the devastating effects of brain tumours, through the provision of grants. (see Children we have helped)

Our raising awareness of the effects of brain tumours campaign was started in July 2010 by sending to all GP's surgeries in Yorkshire an A3 poster to be displayed in the waiting area and leaflets for the GPs attention.  More children now die from a brain tumour than any other childhood cancer.  On average it takes longer to diagnose a child with a brain tumour in the UK than in a number of European countries. This campaign is vitally important in trying to encourage GPs to recognise the symptoms of brain tumours and include them in the differential diagnosis. (see Raising awareness campaign and brain tumour symptoms)

Money will also be donated to established research projects, as lack of government funding into research and the treatment of brain tumours means survival rates are no better than they were 40 years ago!

Congratulations to us!

Levi’s Star Children's Brain Tumour Charity is now four years old and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated time and money to our charity.  We have now raised in excess of £100,000 in the last four years - absolutely amazing

We are truly grateful for the help we have received and we hope we can keep Levi’s Star Children's Brain Tumour Charity shining for a long time to come.

“I am so happy to have received, money to put to a good use,

really, I am truly grateful. It may not go for a laptop, but it

will go to something useful, maybe something nice for me for

once, a nice treat. I am ever so happy to receive this grant,

from the grace and kindness of your nice charity. To provide

the money to get something nice, for me, after all my time

in hospital, immobile, unable to talk, move. But now I have

your kind grant, to get a treat for me.”

‘I am grateful, beyond the hospital,

Home, or even the stars in the sky

I will be thankful for years to come.

With thankfulness and a warm heart’

Thank you

From one of the children we have helped.

Please can you help us???  Here's how
