New York Lethal Image was officially formed in 2003. At this time, the team participated mainly in local events in their area. This was when the team would learn more and more about the growing atmosphere of tournament paintball. In 2005, more than half the team left due to college plans or military decisions. Lethal Image which once stood 7 strong was now down to only 2 members. Luckily, this would not be the last of Lethal Image. The team played at their local field to gain new and veteran talent. The core members were able to again renew the team to a 8 player roster.
In 2007, Lethal Image attended four GPL 3 Man events. Nick Steves, Adam Dudley, and Matt Caban placed in the prizes all four events. The placings were 4th, 3rd, 6th, and 4th. Another team (SGF SKOOL BOYZ) were a Young Guns 3 Man team. The younger kids, Greg McFarlane, Dave Manning, and Matt Perkins strive to learn more and more about the game but came up short with a 12th place finish their first event. In the final event they gained some momentum and finished 4th making the finals cut.
In 2008, the team would meet its hardship. Even with a strong 10-0 prelim record at Headrush's 5 man tourney we still came up short placing 2nd overall. We would try our luck in the GPL 7 man series but being a new team to the series we finished below our expectations with only 2 prelim wins at the second event. Next came the leave of Adam Dudley to the Army and Kurt Hunter for personal reasons. The team which once stood strong at 8 was now down to 6. Practice and meetings were hard as ever to come about due to the loss of our home field. Billy, Kban, and China did compete in a local 3 man tournament at First Prize Paintball surprising the field by upsetting xball teams in the prelims. Lethal Image would go on to make finals but come up short in points in finish in third overall. Most recently, Dave, Matt, and China participated in the 3man Turkey Bowl and Headrush going 7-1 in prelims, 4-1 in semis, and 2-1 in finals and placing second overall just missing the top spot barely. Life has seem to hit the team and now all members are evaluating their future. Will some go to normal life, will some move onto xball, will the team find new members, or will we fall apart? The team will be getting back player Adam Dudley back from basic training but still much is to be determined. The answer seems to shady to tell right now so stay tuned for our future happenings!!!!
In 2009, Lethal Image hopes to rebuild and have a strong season at the same time. We participated in a Headrush 5 Man Tournament in Syracuse and would finish in first while going 11-0 in the tournament. Fellow ballers Dan and Kevin from High Energy Paintball, would team up with the Lethal Image players to form the unique team of "Powered by Perkins" for that on event. Everyone clicked and the team was unstoppable all day. Dan and Kevin would also join the team for the 2009 season. With the fast upcoming season ahead, the team looks forward to participating in both local New York events and GPL events with NEPL events also possible as well. Some players may also guest with AXBL teams from time to time. In late March and early April, the team would add three more players to the roster. Past friends Journey Pirrone, Matt Beecher, and Chris Pickering would join Lethal Image to further the team's progress both on the Regional and Local levels. Keep checking back for updates.
