The property is situated about 4 kilometres outside the village of Mugron, in a
small hamlet called Hauriet, South West France: Half-way between the large towns
of Mont de Marsan and Dax. Nearest airports are Biarritz 60 miles, Bordeaux 100
miles, Bergerac, 125 miles.

nowhere, this is the place for you.
This is a much-loved family home available for rent.
Nearby is the small town of Mugron which has two small supermarkets, a post
office, two bakers, two butchers, banks etc. one bar in the square, two
pharmacies, a stationer, a tabac and a pizza take away service.
There is no ‘night life’ nearby but Mugron is situated approximately half an hour
from the large towns of Dax, in one direction, and Mont de Marsan, in the other.
It is 60 miles from Biarritz airport. It lies less than an hour from the unspoilt
beaches of the south-west coast. From the road you can see the Pyrenees (on a
clear day).
It is a sanctuary from the busy bustle of everyday life, silent except for birdsong
and tractors.
There is a beautiful lake nearby where there is a huge variety of bird life. The
house is situated on a disused railway line which is now a bridle way and affords
long walks or cycle rides.
Nearby is a wonderful auberge which serves DELICIOUS lunches at a very
reasonable price.
One spends one’s day relaxing by the pool, walking in
the countryside, birdwatching by the lake or driving to
the coast for a day's surfing.
Biarritz is great for a day out or why not drive up into the
mountains!
Why not nip into Spain for the day?! Or go East to Lourdes
or Pau.
If it rains there is a wide range of paperbacks to read as
well as jigsaw puzzles and loads of board games.
