LES PRADELLES

We are a Chambres D’ Hotes /Bed & Breakfast in the village of Lapleau

in dept 19 Correze in the Limousin region. Close to the Gorges of the

Dordogne & the foothills of the Massif Central. Close by the Monedieres

& even closer the Plateau de Millevaches which offer a wide choice in this

beautiful unspoilt region. Be it cycling /walking /hiking or swimming

& fishing /sailing on the lakes & canoeing on the rivers near by.

There is a wealth of routes ideal for the cyclist be it touring or off road.

Also many villages & towns waiting to be explored to have that lazy lunch

or welcome drink in a market square, or sat overlooking a lazy flowing river.

Plus many places just to stop and take in the charm and breathe-taking views

 of wooded plateaus and winding narrow roads that meander them selves around

 the hills and plains of this region.

In 2004 the tour de France came to the region and village of Lapleau.

The village is often used as a through route for cyclists and the many races

& rallies etc that take place in the Correze region. The area is very unspoilt

 where the 2 hour lunch takes president and shops remain closed on a Sunday.

Egletons our nearest town has a large open air market on a Sunday where

 people come for miles around and buy local produce etc and linger over a

cup of coffee or glass of wine.

And watch the world go by and catch up on all the

 local news.

 So for a region to holiday in and do as much or little as you please,

or maybe take up painting and sketch some of the stunning views in the gorge

near by or just one of the many old buildings and churches /ruins to practice

 your photography, you can’t go wrong with Lapleau.

After a day exploring the region on foot/ bike/car or exploring local rivers/lakes.

Relax in the guest’s garden/conservatory with a drink or enjoy an evening

 meal with other guests and mine hosts.

The region is steeped in fine produce, & auberge/restaurants serving good

regional cooking using local produce.

So for an overnight stop while touring or get away break /holiday/house hunting

we are ideally situated. We can offer safe lockable storage for bicycles/canoes.

We are approx 1hr30mins from Limoges where Ryanair fly from Liverpool,

East Midlands & Stansted & Flybe operate from Southampton. We are well served

by Trains from Paris to the towns of Brive Tulle & Ussel with links to Egletons.

With good road network we are approx 7 to 9 hours drive from the ferry ports

depending on which port you use and road conditions.

The A20 from Paris to Toulouse is only approx 35mins away and the A89 Bordeaux to Lyon/ClemantFerrond is approx 20 mins from Lapleau.

Our bedrooms are light and airy with en-suite shower, washbasin & WC.

Our prices are per room and Inc continental breakfast.Evening meal is extra.

For the cyclist/walkers/hikers etc, we can provide you with routes to look or plan

your own before you come, we also carry a range of maps and guide books at the

 Maison for guests to look at, as well as a large range of free information provided

by the local tourist office.

As the guides have to be translated, please let us know which choice of guides is

required and we will send them to you with our colour leaflet describing the rooms
