Les Grauzels is a restored farmhouse set in 5 acres on the edge of a small village in SW France. You are assured of calm, tranquility and lack of pollution, with no traffic noise (apart from the occasional tractor!)
The village is close to the town of Laguépie and the bastide town of Cordes-sur-Ciel, a medieval town famous for its architecture and artists.
Toulouse and Rodez are both approximately 1hr 30 away, served by the low cost carriers Easy Jet and Ryanair respectively.Sommard is about 10 hrs drive from Calais.One room is offered at present, another is planned for August 2007. A cot and high chair are provided for those travelling with babies, plus facilities for storing and re-heating baby food.
Breakfast may be taken in the dining room, or on the balcony, or even next to the salt water swimming pool, which is protected by an approved alarm and picket fence.
Evening meals and picnic lunches are available on request, price according to menu, but not exceeding €20 for four courses, including wine.Duck is one speciality of the region, which goes down extremely well with the wines of the adjoining Gaillac region.
A double room (160cm bed), centally heated and open from April to October , featuring exposed beams and stone walls, is situated on the first floor along the balcony.Views are over the pool as far as the forest of Gresigny. Inspected and rated 3 epis by Gîtes de France (No. 2197)Large en-suite shower (thermostatically controlled), washbasin and w.c.
Since this bedroom is on the first floor, it is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties. The planned second bedroom will be on the ground floor and will have wheelchair access.
