EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIVISION
![]()
The Emergency Management Division is responsible for the preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation concerning all disasters that can and do affect our county. This division can provide safety training for its citizens, business, industry, day cares, group homes, etc. We coordinate with all emergency services agencies and work in conjunction with the N.C. Division of Emergency Management. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 3289, Kinston, NC, 28502. Our office number is 252-526-6666. On the Emergency Service's website, you can view information vital to you and your family, as well as your workplace. Lenoir County does have a trained CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) that can assist with disasters and training. The Emergency Services Department operates 24 hours per day, seven days a week. After hours, weekends and holidays, our main phone line is transferred to the emergency communications center and the on-call person will be contacted-252-559-6118. We strongly urge our citizens to keep essential supplies at home for any type of disaster that can and has affected our county. Should a shelter be opened during times of disasters/emergencies, Lenoir Community College, located on Hwys. 70 & 58 South, is the primary shelter. The special-needs shelter will also be registered at Lenoir Community College. Should you have questions concerning any of the above, please contact us at 252-526-6666.
