Sticky Rock 2001  PHOTOS

After the terrible wet weather last year it was a relief to see the sunshine as we set out for skeggy, with Only Ferdy and Andy on scooters Claire Laura Jess and myself traveling by car we were soon on our way, unfortunately Andy's Vespa seized on the A46 so leaving it with a near by farm and promising to pick it up the following Tuesday we were once again on our way. Ferdy now riding solo on what was the debut rally for his new creation INSANE INNOCENTI. We arrived at the campsite at around 12 noon and soon had our tents up and downing a few beers the rest of the club arrived in dribs and drabs and we were all soon enjoying the sunny weather. Friday night we headed to the ' Street ' nightclub an excellent venue with plenty of space and more importantly plenty of bar staff. Kenn was DJ-in along with Mick Stratton, Pete and Ferdy had been collared to be Security [ I have never seen  ' Security ' enjoy it self so much, beer dancing chatting ]. Around 2am we strolled back to the campsite and grabbed some hot coffee & burgers then bedded down for the night. Saturday morning was another promising scorcher and the trade stalls were busy, the campsite was now getting full and the excellent catering facilities were doing a roaring trade. Claire decided she wasn't getting dressed and took a look around the parts fair in her Leopard print ' Kat Slater ' nightie, luckily she had put some knickers on after a reminder from Ferdy. The rest of the day was spent laying around the campsite soaking up the sun and getting drunk. Back up the  'Street ' around 8pm it was already getting busy and by the time The Tonics came on stage it was packed and very hot . The Tonics played an excellent set and look as though they enjoyed themselves as much as we all did. Mick and Kenn carried on the music in the main room and down stairs in the Northern room Sean Chapman and Mark Reeves were playing to a packed house. At around 12.30 - 1am I decided to head back to the campsite because Jess to was dropping off to sleep & Dunny had been asleep for hours, which was his misfortune because the rest of the Inner City took advantage of the fact and decorated him with lipstick nail varnish etc and just what was that ' Tweenie ' doing in his pants. After getting Jess to bed and pointing Dunny in the direction of his tent I sat with Sam Dean Tayla & Chelsey outside the catering vans for a while waiting for Ferdy and the others to return, eventually I went to bed only to be woken a couple of hours later by a chorus of  ' Lovin it Lovein it Lovein it ' a word of advice Ferdy ! when your Mrs. has  to leave the do several hours before you to take your kid and your mate to bed, don't wake her up singing in her ear! it don't go down well. Waking Sunday morning with a mardy on because I had missed out on 2-3hrs of the previous nights do. I decided to do some therapy shopping with Clair while Ferdy took the love of his life to the custom show, which I missed but was informed was not bad especially for Ferdys scoot which grabbed best Engineering, Still miffed I had a quick hello with Mick & Sarah who had arrived earlier in the day and it was off down the pub with Paul [ E L S C ] Mark Reeves, Andy  [ major tom ] Knuckle Dunny and Ferdy, after a couple of pints we lost Dunny but carried on regardless, The time flew and around 7.45 Mark Reeves realized he was due on the decks at 8pm so we headed back to the street [ a little worse for wear ] the rest of the night a bit of a blur but I know I enjoyed myself. All in All it was an excellent rally, the campsite catering toilets/showers and venue were all spot on, well done East Lincs for putting on a brill rally beside the knocks you got last year and keep up the good work.
