CAMBER SANDS 2000     Photos

Billed as Pontin's Greatest Scooter Experience ever,? myself, Kenn, Tracey & Ferdy went in our car [it somehow lost its appeal to me!] I should say that by the time we hit London I'd had enough to drink to make it nearly feel like I was on a rally. We got to Camber quite late but the do was still on so off we went to meet up with everyone. The do upstairs was so hot & crowded that we decided to stay downstairs in the northern room where Sean Chapman and various other blokes, were playing all  the top sounds. The beer was expensive and the seagulls were massive, so on Saturday, armed with crossbows, 12-bores etc we ventured out to find cheap food and drink managing to get back undamaged we sat around most of the day drinking and having a laugh. There were quite a few stalls there with a good selection of sounds, bits, clothes etc to keep you busy for a while.  Saturday evening there was distinct  lack of people in the do and when I went to fetch some fags from my room, I found out why-there was a naked man tied to a tree covered in almost every substance you can  think of, with a 10 foot seagull trying to eat him! It was his stag night bless him, and I don't think he'll forget that in a hurry!!. A night full of strange happenings and famous faces - we met the John Smiths bitter man [WOODY] Harry Hill-a funny German bloke who we got to keep saying ''scuse me mate someone's sitting there!'' a ''vots ze chances of zat happening Zen 'ey?'' You really had to be there. The do was good and we kept nipping from room to room to keep checking out the bands. But in the end after a few and some more beers the stairs got harder and harder so most of us just stayed in the northern room. Sadly I missed the ride out but heard it was a good one. Other than that it was well worth going and I think I'll be there again next year.

Cheers Nessa.
