Lehla's Jungle

Lehla's Jungle

Our second installment in Puppy Raising for Leader Dogs for the Blind.

Lehla is turning into a young lady now...
June 2005

Long time - no update!  As many of you already know, Lehla graduated in February, 2005 from the Leader Dogs for the Blind program.  She is now living with her new partner, Roger, in Philadelphia.  Roger is a college teacher and told us that Lehla (pronounced Lay-la) has become a school mascot of sorts.  We can just picture that too!  Lehla always loved the limelight.

I will update the site with new photos when I can.  So for now, enjoy those that were taken when she was still living with us.

Again, all of this couldn’t be possible without the support of many friends and family. However, I would like to single out a few businesses and organizations:
<>

Thank you to....

Garrison Animal Hospital: Dr. Eskedahl has offered all of Lehla’s veterinary services free of charge. Thank you to her and her staff.

Aitkin Lions: They are sponsoring our puppy once again. They help with food, travel and other costs. Thank you for your support!

Brainerd Kennel Club: They have offered all obedience classes free of charge for all of our service dogs. Thank you!

Please sign her guestbook - many people view her site and these will all go in Lehla’s puppy book.

Enjoy your visit.

Simcerely-

Lehla & Tracy

2/04:  Lehla and her friend Logan (Bearded Collie) after obedience class.  Lehla LOVES playig with Logan, it's hilarious to watch.

2/04:  From L-R.... Logan, Lehla and Mason (G. Ret.) after obedience class in Feb.  Lehla and Mason have really grown since this photo!  I spy a black mark on Lehla's tongue...she has 2 of them, one is farther back on the tongue.

3/04:  Lehla working for me during obedience class.  Notice how focused she is on me.  She works really well!

3/04:  Taken before her CGC test.  This photo really shows off her beauty.

Tracy & Lehla after the CGC test.  Do I look like a proud mom?  I sure was one!

4/04:  Awwww....does it get much cuter?  Actually it does.  Check the next photo...

4/04:  Chaz (our greyhound) was so tired after his obedience class that he decided to use Lehla as his own personal pillow that night.  Lehla didn't seem to mind at all.

5/04:  And here she is....all wet and happy!!  This was taken after she had been playing in the rain.

5/04:  Photo that was in our local paper.  Dave did a speaking engagement for the McGregor Lions club.  Lehla sure posed nicely didn't she?

5/04:  Lehla and Chaz in their kiddie pool.  Chaz was in the middle of getting up after laying in the pool.  Lehla's favorite thing is to stick her nose in the pool and blow bubbles.  She did that the first time we took her to the lake when she was only a few months old.  Some habits never die.

5/04:  Her favorite sleeping position.  I looked through old photos of Lexi and she slept the same way all the time.

5/04:  And she plays on her back as well!  She grabs her toys with her paws and holds them up as she rolls around on her back.  It's too funny.  She is such a comical dog.

5/04:  Chaz and Lehla playing tag.  Lehla does her best to keep up with Chaz, but often times has to take a shortcut across the yard to catch him.

5/04:  Out in the boat.  This is one of my favorite photos.

5/04:  Our Leader Dog group (L-R):  Lucille with Gunnar, Tracy with Lehla, Kevin with Chew-Bee and Marla with Petra.  Marla raised Lexi's brother, Pryce.
