Tetris Attack
System: Super Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo/Intelligent Systems
Introduction:
Before I begin, I'd like to point out one well-known fact.....
I FLIPPIN' LOVE YOSHI!!!!!!!!!
And lucky for me, this game just happened to be Yoshi's Island themed. In 1995, Nintendo rolled out it's newest version of tetris(which, contrary to popular belief, wasn't even Nintendo's original Idea. Extra points for you if you know that one). This would probably be one of the most addictive and fun "tetris" games of all time.
Ok. In truth, there are about 5 modes of play to this game, but if you're planning on playing story mode, lemme break it down for ya.
Yoshi's happy little home has, once again, been taken over by Bowser(who didn't see THAT coming?). Even worse, Yoshi's friends have all fallen under Bowser's spell. To beat them, it will not take brute force, but the power of the mind(obviously...).
This game is just too fun for words, but I'll try anyway.

Graphics: A+
If this were Street fighter 2, I'd yell out: PERFECT!!!!!!! Because that's exactly how the game is Graphic-wise. It was an absolute delight to see graphics this well detailed. Everything you see is like a saturday morning kiddie cartoon, granted, but still, absolutely flawless. The movement with Yoshi and his friends when you're playing Stage Clear mode, or Endless mode will definetly get you to love the game from that alone. An absolute Awesome job, as always, from the folks at Nintendo.
Sound: A+
Yet another thing to absolutely love. The music to the game is something to treasure for a lifetime. The sounds of the characters are almost crystal clear. And even the sound of the blocks as you clear the path is something to be appreciated. Yet another point for Nintendo, in my book.
Control: A
Getting used to the control should be next to no problem. It is very well responsive, and everything is easy to do....it's just doing it at the right time that'll get you in a rut. This game, while it may take some time to master, Is still one of the easiest "tetris" carts to master in the ways of control, end even if you don't get it right away, you can always consult the In-game manual(something that I wish more of these games had). Point #3 for Nintendo.
Gameplay: A+
I think it's a safe bet to say that this game is more addictive than crack. With 5 modes of gameplay, 3 difficulty levels for story mode, and an added challenge to the game for when you and your buddy face off, boredom should NOT be an issue. The gameplay is quite simple: Rotate the rising blocks and match up 3 or more panels. Tip: Try aiming for as many combos and chains as possible. It'll help you a WHOLE bunch. And if the panels go too slow for you, you can always tap the L or R button and the panels will rise faster and faster. This is also a recommended strategy, but don't do it too much. If the blocks rise TOO high, well, I don't need to tell you "Tetris" freaks, like me, what happens, but just in case you don't get it........GAME OVER, MAN!!!!! You get my point. Once you start playing, you'll never, EVER want to stop. And remember, if there's anything you don't understand, be sure to consult the In-game manual. Point #4, Nintendo. Give yourselves a pat on the back.
Overall: A+
If you're going to play this game, fair warning: IT IS ADDICTIVE AS HECK!!!!!! I saw next to no flaws with this game. Not a one. If you're not a fan of puzzlers, this game'll give you a head start in the ever increasing, for it's time, genre. If you ARE a fan of puzzlers, and have yet to try this.......WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, MAN!?!?!?!? Try this game out. Join the many and many that have been hooked. C'mon, man.....Y'KNOW YA WANT TO!!!!!!! lol. Either way. Give this game a try. After this game, you'll probably wanna give Nintendo more points that I did.
