Review of: Legacy of Adrian Blackthorn, Vampire

By C. S. Lamb

Woodrow,

Adrian Blackthorn is great!  I haven't enjoyed a book so much since your last two novels.  As a rule, I am not a fan of vampire novels, especially after the barrage of tripe we were subjected to in the 1990's, but Blackthorn was a very welcome surprise.

Your skills as a writer, have improved with every book and I can see that you have really developed some chops with this one.  Now, as I said before, I am not a literary critic, but I know a good story and I know what I enjoy, and on that you have never disappointed.

When you first sent Blackthorn to me, I read the first few pages, then had to lay it down, due to other concerns.  So when I picked it up again, I started fresh, at the beginning and it wasn't long before I was totally engrossed in the story.  I literally could not put it down and read it from beginning to end, in one night.

Review for

Legacy of Adrian Blackthorn, Vampire

By

Woodrow W. Walker

In Legacy of Adrian Blackthorn, Vampire, author, Woodrow W. Walker, spirals the reader through a time-tunnel where the lives of humans and vampires are interwoven.

Our journey begins in the city of Rome, 795 A.D. where we meet Drago Giovanni.  The first man in our story to learn his sins will not go unpunished. His eternal condemnation, for rape and murder, awaits him in the shadowy world of the undead.

Next, we meet Adrian Blackthorn as an irresponsible, young man who is a big disappointment to his father.  His sins also mark him for vampirism.

The lives of these two intersect when Adrian’s father banishes him and forces him into military service for an incestuous episode with his own mother.

Wounded in battle, Adrian stumbles into the clutches of the vampire, Drago and seems doomed to serve him forever.

The author portrays these two vampires as having no human emotions, neither love nor hate, but I believe you will catch small glimpses of humanity in the vampire, Adrian as he gathers his friends and family around him in the new world.

Legacy of Adrian Blackthorn, Vampire is not the usual tale of bloodletting and gore; instead, this novel challenges the reader’s intelligence, emotions, and imagination.

With no hesitation at all, I highly recommend this well written book to lovers of horror tales.
