"A horse is like a best friend. They`re always there to nuzzle you and make your life a better place."
Misty is a 24 year old mare. She is a Pony of the Americas (POA)/ Welsh Pony Cross and stands 14 hands tall. Misty was the first horse at Left Field Farm, and her story is an unforgettable one!
Purchased in October of 1992 by Christie's parents as a surprise Christmas gift, Misty was kept at a neighbor's home from October until December. Christie was asked to care for her as a favor to the neighbor who had a small child and not much time for a pony. Christie fed, groomed, rode, and was even asked to name her! On Christmas Eve, after everyone was asleep, Christie's Daddy went to the neighbor's and walked Misty all the way home. Christie was speechless when she opened the barn doors on Christmas Day and saw Misty looking over the stall door at her!
Misty and Christie have been together ever since! When she first arrived, she was wild and spunky; riding her the first few times was an adventure! But over the years, she has been Christie's best friend and favorite mount; even though Christie outgrew her years ago, she sometimes still hops on for a quick miniride! She has helped teach many children how to care for, ride, and truly love horses. She has certainly found her forever home at LFF!

Cherokee is a 33 year old registered Quarter Horse mare. She came to Left Field Farm over 15 years ago, and is the oldest horse at LFF.
In her younger years, Cherokee was a successful barrel horse and broodmare. She has had six foals! But her job at LFF is not as a barrel racer or broodmare; Cherokee's purpose at LFF is just to be a horse. Her favorite pastime is being groomed and loved, so she is often used as the "grooming guide", the horse that riders learn to groom when they first arrive.
Though she is older, and a little frail, she is still full of spunk! Cherokee is the alpha mare, or boss of the herd, and loves to tell the others what to do. She can often be seen navigating the herd through the pasture, or keeping the others seperated during feed time.

Pali is a 7 year old Throughbred mare. She is 16.2 hands tall and weighs 1175 pounds! Pali has been trained in Dressage and has done limited jumping.
Pali was purchased in January 2007 from two individuals in Auburn, AL to be Christie's new mount. At the time, Christie's family lived in Georgia, so Pali did not become an official member of Left Field Farm until her arrival here in November 2007. While living in Georgia, Pali enjoyed learning to jump and going on long trail rides with Christie and her friends; but her favorite thing to do was take Christie's daughter for a ride. Pali is very careful with her riders, but always takes special care of Hayleigh!
Pali is truly the darling of LFF; with her gentle ways and kind demeanor, she is a favorite among the riders! She even gives rides to Christie's family! Pali is always the first one to meet you at the gate and welcome you into the pasture. Over time she has become the equine ambassador of LFF!

Spirit is a 7 year old Shetland Pony gelding, standing only 10 hands tall! Not only is he the smallest horse at Left Field Farm, he is the only boy!
Spirit is the newest addition to LFF, arriving in January 2008. He was purchased as Hayleigh's first mount and to teach the younger riders how to care for and ride a pony. Before he came to LFF, Spirit belonged to a young lady with Cerebal Palsy. He gave her rides when she was younger and, as she outgrew him, became her confidant and best friend. When she decided that it was time for him to bring happiness to another little girl, she let him come to live at LFF. Here, he has found his forever home. He had been by himself for years and was so anxious to meet the girls; but after a day or two he settled right in!
As the only gelding at LFF, he has taken the place of protector. He will whinny and help Cherokee round up the herd when they are frightened, and is the first to run off any strange animals that may wander into the pasture. These are his girls, and everyone knows it!
