Back in the days when the RJS (judging system) was around our senior, junior and our novice teams used to be the British Champions every year for 12 years running.People would travel from all over the UK just to skate for Lee Valley. Team Champagne, was the only team to represent Great Britain in the World Championships, from Lee Valley, as no other World Championships existed! We had the best coach in the UK, who was known as Jenni Mudge, our current coach, in them days, was a team member. All our glory was down to great team work, team effort, enthusiasm nnd knowing we were representing Lee Valley. Although in them days our team was very disciplined, it got us our gold, and we had a wicked reputation!!
In the last years of our winning streak we lost our junior team as we were focusing on our senior team as, back then there was no such thing as a junior worlds. we changed our team name to Eclipse, and we also had a novice team sunshine and a juvenille team lighting. We had a good few seasons, and then unfortunately we lost a few skaters, due to change in life, university and work related reasons. Thats when we decided to have a mixed aged team, they were fantastic, winning almost everytime, travelling abroad and winning a few internationals, at this point we lost our coach jenni mudge, and then Dannii became our main coach...
We eventually got new skaters and younger ones, became older, and we finally had enough skaters to get a junior team together, called Aura, we also had a Novice called Phoenix and we still had juvenilles!! we worked very hard and we got 2 programmes together with the help of Sergei Volgushev, the british was in novemeber of 2006, so we went and competed against the Nottingham junior team, and we won, we also made it to the wccj (worlds challenge cup for juniors) we had a fantastic skate, and we were very proud of ourselves. we also still had our intermediate, novice and juvy's oh and not forgetting our adult team , Team Passion, our novies came 3rd in Britain and our adults were 1st also our intermediate team were 1st but unfortunately our juvenilles did not compete! we had a wicked season, and made Lee Valley proud...
we now have new skaters and old ones who have been missed and have missed skating who have come back, and we now have a Senior Team developing, so hopefully Senior Worlds 2008 here we come!!
For this season we are developing our Senior Team, Novice team and our Adult team!
